Both of them were in the enclosed playing area where cats were allowed to run around in the huge area. Elly and Keonhee, along with their families, joined them.
"Hana, hurry!" Haneul was calling Hana over to run into her hug. Jongseong watched her helping the little girl playing with cats. The way she caressed her head with a warm smile. The way she talked to the kids, made them feel safe and secure, he could see she has a big heart. Haneul then turned her gaze towards Jongseong, smiling at him. The sight melted his heart like butter under the sun.
"Oh god! I can't get used to both of you being lovey dovey like that" Elly near him smirked. "You really love her right, Jongseong-ssi?" This time Keonhee teased him.
Jongseong smirked as he was petting Tripod, the three-legged adult cat in his lap. "Yup"
"How do you guys start coming here? I heard Haneul said it's been a while since all of you volunteer here" Jongseong glanced at Elly then Keonhee.
"We've been friends since college and she found this place and yea we kind of dragged here" Elly chuckled. "But it's a good thing she did that. I was in a bad condition at that time and she saved me. I mean the cats saved me"
"She kind of saved both of us" Keonhee added. "We were together at that time, me and Haneul. Then I started this habit of drinking. So bringing us here is a form of therapy to me"
"Woah I never knew that. You've been friends for so long" Jongseong said. "How was she when in college?"
"Pretty chill" Elly grinned. "A little stressed but she was always happy. She needs help when living in the city again. And get used to her family again"
"And that's when she learned drawing. So she started to sketch every night. Talk about drawing" Keonhee just realized something and turned to Elly. "She never draws any person right? I've never seen her draw anyone"
"You mean besides animation for work, nope. She told me it's hard to draw people, she always thinks she needs to know that person first before drawing them. Wait! There's this one word she always use" Elly tried to recall the words but failed.
"Isn't it 'connection'?" "Yes! That's it! She said she need to feel connection with that person then she knew the can draw that person"
"That's.. weird" Jongseong smirked. I never know that part about her"
Elly smiled mischievously. "I can send to you Haneul's picture in college if you want"
"Really?" Jongseong's face lit up.
"Hey, hey" Keonhee gave her a side eye. But later grinned. "I can provide pictures too"
They burst into laughter.
"Hey, you remember when she used to idolize Sunoo sunbae?" Keonhee asked Elly, which made Jongseong listen too, at the mention of the name.
"Yes it's annoying!" Elly rolled her eyes. "She'll be like 'Elly, look at Sunoo sunbae. Isn't he so cool?' and 'I want to join that competition too since sunbae is joining' "
"Don't mention it!" Keonhee snorted as he recalled the memory.
"Is this Sunoo the same person you're working with?" Jongseong asked Elly. She nodded.
"Woah, I feel betrayed!" Jongseong exclaimed, finding the fact unbelievable.
"I heard you and Sunoo are childhood friends?" Elly asked, which made Keonhee gasp. Jongseong nodded with a smirk. "Apparently, we're 'friends' and now he's trying to get close with my wife. I wish I can just keep her away from him"
"I'm sorry I'm the one who suggested the collaboration with him!" Elly bit her lips. She felt bad.
"Don't worry I know it's for work. I know she can be professional with him" Jongseong added.
