Chapter 26: Seperated

Haneul did as told and let Jongseong hear the call too.

"Jongseong, Haneul, listen to me" Hyunjae said. He was panting, it seemed like he was running. "I'm on my way to your house. I'll pick Haneul up and bring her home with me"

"What's wrong, hyung?" Jongseong asked.

"Your wedding agreement! It's on the news right now! Everyone knows about it already!"

Jongseong and Haneul gasped. Haneul covered her mouth and tears began forming in her eyes. "How did this happen...?"

"Someone in the media got the news from an unknown source. I'll try my best to control the news. You two should be in hiding for a while" Hyunjae said.

"Hyung" Jongseong called. "I have something to tell"

"What is it?"

"I think the news got out because my office was raided the other day. They took away my laptop data" Jongseong said.

"What?!" Both of the siblings shouted.

"The company data is saved, the IT team managed to block all other foreign IP access but my other personal files... I think that's what happen" Jongseong sighed.

Hyunjae sighed on the other line. "Why didn't you tell me? You two are in trouble right now!"

"I know... I shouldn't do that..." Jongseong sighed.

"Alright" Hyunjae took a breath. "Right now that's our plan. I'm taking Haneul since our parents are livid about this. And you... you should go back to your parents too. Explain to them what happened and all. And both of you should stay hidden. Let's hope reporters are not at your house yet. And later we can talk about the next step"

"You two take care, I'm driving to your home now" Hyunjae ended the call.

Jongseong stopped the car at the side of the road. He got out of the car.

"Jongseong" Haneul got out of the car. "Why didn't you tell me what had happened?! We could work things out together"

"Not right now, Haneul" Jongseong stared out into the woods beside the highway. Haneul just stared at him. It was the first time seeing him that frustrated.

She walked up to him slowly. Haneul slowly held his hand, looking at him. He sighed and held her hand back. He gave her a weak smile.

"We can go through this together, okay?" She whispered. He nodded. Jongseong pulled her into an embrace and caressed her head. "Sorry" he whispered. She swore he sounded so fragile at that moment. She hugged him tighter, hoping she could somehow comfort him.

"Now what?" he mumbled. "You are going away from me. Right when I finally have you"

"I'm sure we'll find a way. For now, let's be with our parents first. They need to know the truth, our side of the story" "What if I can't meet you again? What if our families force us to get a divorce? Then we won't see each other anymore, and I will miss you a lot ..."

Haneul's eyes slightly widened. She never thought that that would happen. Now that he mentioned it, that could be their future.

"Do not say such negative thoughts to me" Haneul whispered softly. Tears threatened to fall down but she swallowed the lump.

They stood there hugging each other for quite some time. Jongseong broke away. "We'll figure out everything, just like you say"

"Till then, let's be strong for each other" Haneul held his cheek, trying her hardest to smile. He nodded with a small smile he was able to muster.
