Chapter 9- Jake

I woke up the next day nervous. I wasn't sure why I was so nervous but I was. I hoped she'd agree, I didn't want her to have nowhere to go, especially after what she been through? No way was I going to pass this up.

 I'm glad I cleaned the house yesterday, even if she didn't agree atleast I had cleaned up that's a plus. 

I didn't want to go there first thing in the morning, that'd be weird, so I waited till about noon before I left my house. I decided to drive my car so she wouldn't have to walk, that's if she agreed ofcourse.

 When I got to the hospital I went up to the desk and instead of being allowed back to the room I was told something different. 

"Dr. Perry wanted me to tell you to wait to go back, he's currently talking to Ms. Jennings he said he'd come and get you whenever Ms. Jennings was ready." The lady said. I nodded and went to go sit down. 

I sat and waited for about 10 minutes when Dr. Perry came to me. 

"Ah hello Mr. Harrow, how are you this morning?" He asked me. 

"I'm doing alright, how's Kayla?" I asked standing up. He chuckled a little bit. 

"She's doing okay, she is ready to meet you now." He said smiling. My breath hitched slightly, god how I hated nerves. 

"Alright, let's do this." I said taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly. He nodded and motioned for me to follow him.

When we got to the room he paused and gave me a look as if to say 'hold on'. I nodded. I watched as he knocked on the door frame and poked his head in, he walked forward a little bit. 

"Are you ready?" I heard him ask. I didn't hear a verbal response but I assumed that she nodded a yes because the next thing he said was "Alright Mr. Harrow you may come in." And with those words I took one more deep breath and walked in. 

She was sitting on the bed with nervous fear in her eyes. 'glad I'm not the only one.' I thought to myself.

 "I'll let you to get aquatinted." The doctor said and walked out leaving me and Kayla alone.
