Two sides, One heart

~Chapter 20~

I was sitting in class in the back corner. Jack was sitting at our old spot. While I walked in we made eye contact. I walked past him and he didn't stop me but I could see him looking at the seat next to him. We had our share of eye contact throught out the class but he was still mad.

Class was over and it was lunch time. This was maybe the worst time of the day. I would normally sit with Jack and the football team laughing and enjoying the fun of the table but I will be needing to sit somewhere else today.

As I walk into the cafetaria. I look around to find an empty table. While looking I saw my old group looking at me and to my surprise they didn't look mad just sad. I looked over to Jack and Logan who were looking at me aswell. Jack looked broken, messy and he just wasn't himself. He had puffy eyes and had cried not that long ago. I don't look any better with my messy bun, red face, no make up and just no motivatie at all and Logan gave me a small smile but it was just to be kind. I messed up, I did how don't they hate me?

I kept looking and I found an empty table. I started to walk over to it but was stopped by someone.

"Hey Amy come sit with me and my friends." Damian said.

I look at the people behind him, it was part of the football team and saw them looking at me with weird faces. They don't want me there which I get I am a river vally and still there enemy

"No thank you Damian you enjoy your lunch with your friends. I will just sit somewhere else." I smiled at him and he look sad.

I walked over to the empty table and set down. I could feel stares and I look behind me to see my old group staring at me. I gave them a small smile and turned back. I grabbed my lunch and started to eat.

Then suddenly people joined my table. I looked up and saw it was Damian with some other guys. It were some of the weird face guys.

"What are you doing?" I asked Damian.

"Having lunch with you and making sure you know your not alone. We may be different schools Amy but our friendship means more to me than the title of best football team and that says a lot" he said smiling.

I smiled back at him and looked at the other guys.

"These are my best friends Austin, Blake, Scott and Ray" Damian said pointing at who was who.

I then remembered these were the guys from the movie.

"It's nice to meet you guys, I'm Amy" I said giving them a small smile.

Ray looked at me with an annoyed look, Austin and Scott gave me a small smile back and Blake just kept eating his food.

"Anyways guys what did that chick Samantha want from you Scott" Damian asked acting like everyone at this table liked each other.

"I don't know man" Scott said and then all of them started talking about this chick except RY who hated being placed at this table. But the others were nice and tried to make me feel a bit more comfy and Austin even asked me a question at one point about what to do with the Samantha girl.

They kind of accepted me with I find shocking but I mean I do hang out with Damian so maybe I can become friends with these guys too.

Damian also tried getting me to join the talk more often and at one moment I did. I kept on talking till everyone laughed and even I saw a little movement at Ray's mouth

Lunch was almost over when we finished talking.

"You seem cool Amy and you got our boy Damian around your finger so maybe join us at lunch tomorrow too" Austin said.

"Sure I would like that, thank you." I said giving him a smile.

"Listen just cause we invited you still doesn't mean we like the school your from, your cool but your the only one got it" Blake said in a goofy way.

"Understood" I said giving him a goofy smile.

"Well I got to head to my locker now see you guys around?" I said, kinda asked.

"Yeah see you around Amy" Scott said.

I stood up from the table and Damian followed me.

"What you doing?" I asked him but continued walking.

"Walking you to your locker of course" Damian said smiling.

I smiled back at him and walked to my locker only to see Logan and Jack waiting there.

That's when I remembered me and Jack shared a locker and he was waiting for me to open it so he could take his stuff and put it in Logans locker or something.

"You okay Amy?" Damian asked seeing the people by the locker.

"I'm fine, you don't have to come I got this" I said turning to him.

"Your not alone in this, come on I'm right behind you" he said grabbing my hand and we walked over to the locker.

I opened it and looked at Jack.

He nodded and started grabbing all the stuff he had out of the locker and into Logans arms.

I look at logan and he looked at me with a look that said 'I'm sorry but I got no choice here' and I understand. When Jack was done I grabbed my books that I would be needing and locked the locker.

Damian put his hand on my back and grabbed my heavy bag out of my hands.  I lean into his touch and I look at Jack one last time to see him getting hugged by Logan. I looked at logan again and mouth '"I'm sorry'" before turning around and walking to my classroom with Damian by my side. I could feel the tears form in my eyes and Damian noticed this.

He stopped walking and dropped the bags on the floor. He hugged me tight and I hugged him back. I let the tears fall as I feel my heart break every second a little more.

I heard footsteps and saw the other guys looking at me and Damian.

"You okay Amy?" Scott asked.

"I will be no worries" I said giving him a smile but to my surprise he opened his arms and gave me a hug aswell.

I thought they didn't care about me. That they just thought I was some trash that there friend decided to start hanging out with and that they had to just accept it. But they cared, well some of them did.

We pulled away and Damian pulled me back by his side.

"It's going to be okay sweetheart I promise you. I should probobly say sorry to your friends for the way I treated them" he said looking over at my old squad.

He started to walk over there and I followed behind him saying he should just let them be and give them there space.

Damian ignored me and walked straight to Logan. Logan saw him and put Jack behind him.

"What do you want." Logan said angry.

"I am here to say sorry for the way I have treated you both. I was rude and I should of minded my own business. Amy was right your guys love doesn't harm anyone. Maybe not everyone can accept it like I couldn't in the beginning but I could of kept my opinion for myself so for that I am sorry" Damian said meaning every word.

Logan looked at Damian and then at me. He smiled at me and then looked back at Damian. His smile dropped but he didn't look mad anymore.

"I can't forget what you said and I can't forgive you on the spot but I do appreciate your apology." Logan said while turning to Jack.

Damian thanked Logan and then walked back over to me.

"Let's get you to class sweetheart" he said, grabbing our bags and getting me to class.

He really is trying to be better for me. I believe there is something going between me and Damian. We just need time and I am willing to give us that. To atleast try to make this work.

I want this to work.
