The fight with Do-hyun resulted in Jungkook being suspended from school. The very next day all of the students were talking about the fight; even the students that weren't present to see it. Jimin disappointed because now he wouldn't see Jungkook for a while.
About three days of school without Jungkook not much has changed. But Jimin felt worried. He wanted to tell the teachers that Jungkook didn't start the fight. Weirdly enough Do-hyun didn't get suspended. He was just told to help clean the school grounds as punishment.
It's like the world was against Jungkook, but not Jimin. He needed to do something for him. He wanted to tell Jungkook that he believes in him.
It must be lonely for Jungkook. But the opportunity arises when Jimin just so happens to again, overhear a conversation with teachers near the teachers office.
"I'll be going over to Jungkook's house to deliver the homework" a male teacher said
"Oh no be careful! His parents really are thugs you know?" a female teacher respond
The male teacher sighs "Well we have no choice... and his house isn't on my way home from work. I don't know why I was assigned with this task."
Jimin then got a bright idea. He walks up to the two teachers and bows politely. "Hello, I couldn't help but over hear. Do you need me to bring these papers to Jungkook? I do live on the same block as him" which was the truth
The teachers looked at each and then at Jimin surprised "I don't know, we have to be sure that these homework's get delivered to him" the male teacher said sounding unsure
"I-I promise I'll bring it to him!" Jimin then tells the teachers what street Jimin lives on as confirmation
"hmm..." The male teacher thinks "Fine, but no funny business okay? I'll be checking in with the Jeons later to see if Jungkook got his homework" he said handing the pile of assignments to Jimin
Jimin smiles and bows again "Don't worry I'll do the task well! Have a good night"
Jimin then runs out the school happily holding Jungkook's assignments. The closer and closer he got home he started to get nervous. He was going to be interacting with his crush.
Jimin didn't really think this through. But now, he was forced to say something. He passes his own home and walks further down the block to Jungkook's apartment.
There's a small sticky note that gives Jungkook's apartment number so he was able to press their bell. He waited until on the intercom he heard yelling in the background. Then Jungkook's voice was heard.
"Yeah?" is all he said
"I-I...umm I'm from school and I-I'm here to give you you're homework" Jimin said nervously
There was a long pause and then the intercom turns off. Jimin thinks he messed up and Jungkook wouldn't care to retrieve his homework.
But he saw through the glass doors of the apartment entrance was Jungkook coming down the stairs wearing nothing but pajamas. He had messy bed hair.
Jimin gulps because he thought he still looked cute. Jungkook opens the door and looks at Jimin with a perplexed look.
"They send students to give me my homework?" Jungkook said in a playful tone
Jimin looks down at the papers and laughs a little "Y-Yeah I guess...teachers are busy too haha"
"So you're gonna give them to me or...?" Jungkook asked holding out his hands to take them
"Oh! Oh y-yeah of course" Jimin said giving Jungkook his assignments "By the way...I just...I just want to say that I—"
Jimin felt his heart beating quickly. His body temperature started to rise and he was playing with his fingers nervously. He mentally wanted to slap himself got being such a nervous wreck. This was his chance to finally talk to his crush.
"I think you're a very nice guy...c-can we be friends?" Jimin asked not able to confess that he liked Jungkook
Jungkook cocks his head to the side "You want to be friends? With me?" he said pointing to himself
Jimin nods his head "Yes...I-I want to get to know you."
"Did someone dare you to do this?" Jungkook frowned not convinced
"No! No one did!" Jimin shakes his head "I-I really think you're super cool. I feel like you deserve friends...n-not enemies"
Jungkook looks Jimin up and down, almost scrutinizing him. Jimin blushes waiting to hear Jungkook's answer. But he expected the worse judging from the way Jungkook looks at him.
"hmm...okay" Is all Jungkook said "We can be friends....Park Jimin" he said reading Jimin's name tag on his school uniform
"O-Okay grea—"
"Yah JUNGKOOK AH! WHY ARE YOU DOWN THERE FOR SO LONG!" a woman yells from the top of the staircase in the apartment building
Jungkook rolls his eyes "I'm coming up!" he shouts back. "See you later, Park"
He then closes the door and Jimin watched him walk up the stairs. Jimin let's out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He begins walking to his own apartment building.
Jimin was a bit disappointed he didn't confess his love. Either way a part of him was satisfied he was able to get Jungkook's acknowledgment.
