Important Notes: Definitely an Elemental Guardian, as all other Grand Alpha's Mates have been. It's interesting that his shifter type can't be identified, and neither can his heredity. He has to be a shifter to be Matt's Mate, but his scent isn't anything that any of the staff at the hospital has ever smelled before, or myself. His heredity is also interesting, his mother does not appear to be mated, and would not divulge the name of Daniel's father for the birth certificate. The DNA sample we took from Daniel does not match anyone in our system except for his mother's family, which she readily listed off to the nurse during her in-patient interview.

Update (5-13-13): We have determined his shifter type. His mother died today, and the overload of grief caused him to experience his first shift (finally). He actually does not have a specific type; he is polymorphous, the first one in centuries. The most famous polymorphous shifter was Alpha Robert Bricking himself, the founder of our Pack (though he was not a Grand Alpha).

I am terrified. This, in conjunction with being Matthew's Mate, does not bode well for any of us. He could destroy the world in a heartbeat and have no idea what he was doing. Luckily, he did not shift into his full form: all of the different animals he kept trying to shift into were babies of their specific species, which was most likely due to the fact that he has not yet come into contact with Matt. I have made the decision, on my own, that he will be isolated from everyone else, most especially Matt. I don't have the heart to kick him out of Bricking permanently, but I'll have to spread a story to account for his isolation.

I will tell everyone that he cannot shift. He has one (allegedly two) shifter parents, and therefore should be able to shift. Yet, he 'cannot', and therefore we must let him separate himself from everyone else, as 'he' wants to, so that he doesn't have to endure our constant pity.

I know that if he will not object. At least, not to anyone else; he has not shown any tendencies for being a socialite. In fact, he already does not interact with his peers very much. This will not be that hard on him considering his personality, which lessens my guilt at isolating him. However, should I ever have to decide between his well being and that of my Matthew, I will always choose my Matthew over the person who could ruin his life.

He must not ever be allowed to come into contact with Matt.

This document, with full acknowledgement and consent of all individuals above the age of eighteen involved in the following, hereby passes the care of Alekzander Llygos Reinas from his mother, now deceased, to Alpha Jackson Lance Kinney. Efforts, which were deemed acceptable by this court, were made to attempt to contact any and all know living relatives of Alekzander, but none could be located. The deceased mother did not leave a Will or other binding legal document intended to be carried out after death, and did not specify in any records available to this court a next of kin. This evidence is deemed acceptable to prove that Alekzander has no living relatives, and that his care may thereby be determined by the court. After extensive debate and deliberation, the court has come to the decision that the man who would be most suitable for guardianship of Alekzander is Alpha J. L. Kinney.

Therefore, this document, with full acknowledgement and consent of all individuals above the age of eighteen involved in the above, hereby passes the care of Alekzander Llygos Reinas from his mother, now deceased, to Alpha Jackson Lance Kinney.

This document is hereby signed and witnessed by all parties of responsible age, and a third party witness, making it legal and binding in any and all courts of law.

P.S. Jack, for the love of all that is good, please do your best by this boy. As you know, I am not one normally given to much emotion (and I feel I am a better Judiciary figure for that), however I find this boy's story particularly heart-wrenching. To not be able to shift, to never be able to feel the freedom and natural balance we do when we shift, such things seem like a giant cosmic joke. I almost can't fathom what that would feel like, and so I implore you, as the man who is as close to a friend as you can have, please keep this boy safe. If you ever need my help, I'm here.
