"Violette just wait!" I heard Axel yell from the lobby as I walked towards the elevator. I really didn't want to speak to him, a!er the show he pulled in the gym. Nikolas had le! us at the airport because he needed to meet up with some Italian men.
So I was left with Axel, who by the way annoyed me very much right now. I quickly pressed the button, in hope of the elevator leaving without Axel. I hadn't spoken to him since we left! the mansion in the states.
We were now in Italy, on Mission Save Cain and Axel made it really hard for me to like him right now. I was mad at him because he assumed I felt the same way. I was horny the first night, and mad at Cain.
I know I was wrong for using Axel, but he made it very clear that what we shared that night meant nothing. The doors closed before the big beef, Axel squeezed himself in our bags in his hands.
"Thanks for holding the door," he panted and I rolled my eyes moving away from him. He noticed and let out a sigh. "I'm sorry about what happened Violette, it was just in the moment and-"
"Exactly, you assumed without asking. I don't want to speak to you right now Axel." Was I overreacting? Anywho, I couldn't care less. He couldn't just kiss me like that, while I was holding a loaded gun in my hand. Or ever.
"We need to talk when we get in the room," he said in monotone and just the sound of his voice made my eyes roll to the back of my head. Just to my luck, the doors opened and our room wasn't that far from the elevator.
Axel opened the door and waited for me to enter. What a gentleman! I sat down on the bed and watched as Axel walked over to me. He took a seat on the desk chair and leaned back in the chair rubbing his temple.
"We're getting Cain tonight," he said and my heart skipped a beat in happiness. I looked at him and saw the frustrated look on his face. "But, I'm not sure you can come along." I frowned and felt my insides boil in rage.
"If you're getting him, I'm coming too."
"Violette-"
"He needs to see me there. He's been there for eleven days, Axel. Are you aware of what that psycho might've done to him? I want to see him," I said in a stern voice.
"You don't get it, Violette. We're going to get help from the other Italian mafias that are aligned with the Medusa's," he said, his voice calm and soft. I heard him speaking, but none of the words made any sense?
"So? I can stay close to Nikolas, I don't see the issue."
"Violette, are you aware of how many Italian mafias there are?" he asked me, and I felt stupid. Slightly cowering down from my high-chair I shook my head and watched as a grin cracked on his lips.
"Well, first there's Giancarlo Ricci, leader of the biggest mafia; Cicatrici. Then we have Cain's cousin Leonidas Bianchi, leader of the other Italian mafia named Il cieco assassino. Then we have my favorite, soft ex-gang member; Malakai Lorenz. He's not the mafia though."
I didn't know there were so many mafias, gangs and so much more. "We're only getting help from Leonidas's mafia, but not him himself. He has his own problems to deal with at the moment. The same goes for Malakai," Axel said and I nodded my head.
"So remind me why I can't come?" He rolled his eyes and sighed looking at me as if I was speaking German.
"First off, Cain would kill me which should be a good enough reason for you to stay."
"You've been really annoying lately, so letting Cain kill you doesn't sound like such a bad idea at the moment," I said and watched as Axel's face dropped.
"Ouch? Anyway, second off; You could get hurt plus your gunshot wound. The stitches could reopen and I would have to take care of you."
"Listen here Hulk, I'm not a fucking baby and this is Cain we're talking about. If my stitches go up, they go up. Boohoo. I'm coming, end of discussion," I yelled and watched as he laughed at my raging posture.
"Nikolas won't approve of it," he teased and I wanted to punch that grin off his lips.
"No? Let me call him and ask." Axel's face went pale and I quickly pulled my phone out pressing Nikolas's contact. The phone rang a few times before he picked up.
"Violette, you okay?" Nikolas asked from the other side of the line and I nodded my head before shaking it. He can't see you dumbass!
"Yes, yes, but Axel just told me about tonight and he won't let me come along, so I'm asking you because I love you more. Can I come with you guys?"
"I thought Axel and I already talked about this? He agreed back in the mansion that you should come because your dad might fi-"
"Okay, that's enough Nikolas!" Axel yelled, quickly grabbing the phone. He hung up and threw the phone at the bed running his hands through his hair. What the hell?
"You know who my biological father is?" I asked and he shook his head a little too fast.
"I don't know what Nikolas is talking about," he said and I frowned as I watched him run his fingers through his hair again. He sat down in the chair again and closed his eyes as he rested his arm on top of his eyes.
"Axel, Nikolas just said-"
"I don't know who your dad is for fucks sake!" he yelled, causing me to look at him in pure shock. He surely didn't seem like one who knew nothing. I didn't really care who he was, I was just curious.
I wouldn't reach out if I found out who he was, I was simply just intrigued by who he was and why he left me. Maybe he was a rich pornstar that could send me money? You never know what goes on in my life.
"Is my surname even Miller? It doesn't sound very French," I said and watched as all the color seeped out of his face. He got up from the chair and grabbed his stuff before leaving the room leaving me all alone.
I shrugged my shoulders and sat in the room before the sound of my stomach growling caused a so! giggle to escape my mouth. "Let's go get some food then!" I exclaimed and walked towards the door, before taking the room card out of its container and watched as all the lights turned off.
I walked down the hallway and into the escalator before the doors opened down at the lobby. I walked towards the bar in hope of a sandwich. I wasn't feeling the huge meal, just something to stop my stomach from growling.
A pretty boy came from behind the bar, as he was drying glasses putting them back at their place. "What can I get for you?" He asked me his accent coming on thick. I parted my lips to speak before the sound of my phone ringing stopped me from ordering my sandwich.
I looked down and saw an unknown number. I picked it up without hesitating.
"If you want to see him again, be at The Devil's World tonight and come alone."
I didn't get to say a word before the line cut. The devil's world? What the hell even is that? I looked at the bartender. He lives here, maybe he knew it.
"Uhh, do you know what The Devil's World is?" I asked and he smirked looking at me.
"The fanciest club in Italy."
"Oh- Is it hard to get in?" I asked, in hope of getting to see Cain. It was idiotic to even consider going but I needed to do anything if it meant seeing Cain again.
"Kind of. The owner is an ex-Los Zetas member. Malakai Lorenz. Heard of him?"
Well, fuck me—this just got way more exciting.
