Whilst we Breathe

Chapter Three

When days goes by
And our love ones
Don't come back.
We search, we reach out,
We let them know, we are here,
That we care, we love them
And we will always have their back.

" Chelsea ", Katina calls her voice filled with worry.
" Yes ",I look up from my book and reply.
" Don't you think something is wrong?, It's been two weeks and Bel hasn't resumed for this semester ", she asks ." I've tried calling her but it keeps to the voice mail ".
" Yeah I know, I too have been trying to reach her but to no avail, I even tried phoning her mum on two occasions but it ended on the same note ",I state.
" I don't know but I'm worried ", she said with a wry expression.
" So am I Kat ", I nod.
" But didn't you spend the first week of spring break with her? ", she questioned." Didn't she mention anything suspicious or........ I don't know ".
" Yeah, yes I did but........ ", I pause and placed a hand on my forehead." She never mentioned not resuming this semester...... she only mentioned that they were going on a family vacation and that's all ".
" Has she called since she left? ", she ask.
" Yeah a few times............ although I noticed she sounded off the last time we spoke and since then her line has been busy ", I inform her.
" I don't know but I have a really bad feeling about this ", Kat said looking like a careworn and I kept mute as various thought ran through my mind.

This really was unlike Belinda who is very secretive but wouldn't miss to inform us about anything new happening in her life, unless it was so something life wrecking or...... I don't know .
She did seem very happy when she talked about her father taking them on a surprise trip, which was kind of off since their dad never had time for family trips. So unless the surprise wasn't what she expected it to be, but at that Belinda is a strong and can take on anything but the sudden disappearance of hers and silence I couldn't quite understand. Her sudden disappearance .........

" Her disappearance ", I yelled enthusiastically.
" Her disappearance ", Katina repeated with a confused look.
" Yeah, her disappearance ", I emphasize nodding my head.
"  I don't get you Missy ", Katina snapped obviously annoyed.
" Her disappearance ", I say again." Don't you understand, Belinda might have returned ", I announce but Kat starred at me like I've grown another head." Kat, listen with all this  in understandable facts about where about and what she might be going through_ don't you realize if the trip wasn't favorable she might have been back ".
" oh my gosh, Chelsea you are a genius ", Katina gushed." Belinda must have been around all this while and....... ", Kat paused.
" I know, we have been terrible friends ", I say." But we are going to fix  it, we'll go to her house immediately after school and find out what's wrong ".
" Yeah we would go ", she said and suck in her breath.
I pkaced a hand on her shoulder." Don't worry we would soon find out what's on and fix it ", I say in an assuring tone and gave her shoulder a squeeze.

We are coming Bel, please hang in there for a while we're coming.
