Billie: man we really need to go grocery shopping tomorrow

Acelyn: yeah we do I can go tomorrow after I get off of work

Billie: yeah that would be helpful because I have a meeting with my team tomorrow

Acelyn: well I'm glad we got to go out today with the girls it's been awhile since we went out as a family

Billie: yeah it has I'm happy we did too

I say and smile at her and she smiles back at me then my phone started ringing

I picked my phone up seeing it was finneas calling me so I answered

Billie: hello

Finneas: Billie come to mom and dads house

Billie: why is everything okay

Finneas: it's pepper her cancer got worse and mom and dad diced t-

Billie: I'm on my way

I say cutting him off and turn the car around to started driving to my childhood home

Acelyn looked concerned but didn't say anything once we arrived I instantly got out of the car

Billie: get the girls please I have to go inside

She nodded and I ran inside of the house into the living room and see pepper laying down on her dog bed and my parents and finneas sitting with her

I slowly walked over to pepper and her tail wagged a little bit as she saw me

Billie: hi mama

I say tears falling down my face finneas comes over to me petting her as well

Billie: what did the vet say mom

Maggie: they said her cancer was getting worse and there was nothing they could do to help it and that she would have a few days to live and it's been a week so today is her last day

She says tears coming down her face while dad rubbed her back more tears came down my face as I Held peppers face in my hands and pet her

We spent the last couple of minutes with her before she passed after she did I kissed her head and started sobbing

Finneas pulled me into a hug and I gripped him tightly

Acelyn walks in the room and sees me finneas and my parents

She knows about peppers cancer and how she didn't have that long left

She set willows car seat down and came over to us with Mila on her hip and kaia next to her

Billie: goodbye pepper I love you rest easy mama I will see you again some day I'll miss you forever

I say kissing her head one last time before sobbing again this is a really hard day for me

Pepper has been in my life for so long shes my life long best friend I can't really describe what losing pet but basically it's like losing a best friend

And that's what pepper is to me my life long best friend since the moment she came into my life

It's gonna be hard not seeing her when I come to visit my parents hearing her growl when I pet her or having her cuddle with me on the couch or taking her for late night walks
But she's in a better place now and she's not hurting anymore

I spent a couple of hours at my parents house before I left

Acelyn gets the girls in the car and finneas walks over to me then gives me one big hug I hug him back not wanting to let go

Finneas: I love you Billie

Billie: I love you too

After a couple minutes he let's go of me then kisses my head

Finneas: text me when you get home okay

I nodded my head then he walked away and get in his car while I got into mine

Acelyn: you okay love I know how much pepper meant to you I'm sorry Billie

She says and holds my hand I sigh feeling the tears come back into my eyes

Billie: I'm just gonna miss her so much

I say breaking down again acelyn hugs me and lets me cry on her shoulder after a couple minutes I collect myself before I could start the car acelyn stopped me

Acelyn: here let me drive instead you had a hard day's today

I nodded my head then we switched sides and she drove us home I looked out the window up at the sky seeing a could shaped like a heart

I smiled weakly and continued to look at it all the way home knowing my pepper was truly in a better place
