Grant found himself following Optimus throughout the underground facility.
"What about my sister?! How is she going to know Im, okay?!" He asked in disbelief.
"Unfortunately, for now. We can not afford to contact any humans outside of this base."
"So im just...STUCK here? Being held hostage?!" Grant asked in audible anger, causing Optimus to pause mid step, turning to the teen.
"Grant, you are not being held hostage here. The fact of the matter is. You are safer here for the time being. And your sister is safer with you here as well, " Optimus explained bluntly. Silencing Grant.
Grant growled in frustration before letting out a heavy sigh.
Optimus found his attention being caught by Ares as she approached.
"Ares -"
"No," she said simply, earning a slight shake of Optimus's head in surprise.
"Pardon?" He asked in slight confusion.
"I heard you want me looking after the Human, the awnser is no!" She said with a slight laugh of frustration.
"Ares. It was an order. Not a request, " Optimus said simply.
Ares sighed as a frustrated sneer briefly crossed her face.
She crossed her arms, like that of a disobedient child being scolded by a parent.
"Fine," she relented, earning a nod from Optimus.
"Good," Optimus said in a slightly more relaxed tone.
Ares looked to Grant, placing a hand on her hip.
"Alright. Follow me, Human, " she said with a heavy sigh, gesturing for him to follow her.
"Great, I get the edgy one," Grant said with a sarcastic tone.
"You're one to talk," Ares replied bluntly as the both of them rounded a corner.
Optimus chuckled slightly as he heard the bickering, turning slightly as Arcee approached him.
"You really had to put her in charge of taking care of him?" She asked in slight offense.
"Indeed. I believe Ares could learn a thing or two, taking care of a smaller one. More fragile being, " Optimus explained, turning to the smaller Auto-bot.
"Still, I know more about him. I could have -"
"Arcee. I understand your wish to help him. Given your....feelings toward what happened back then, " Optimus said in understanding.
"However, it is not time to involve yourself with Grant as of yet."
Arce's optics softened slightly as her shoulders dropped. Sighing slightly.
"You feel I am too emotionally attached to see clearly," she said in a matter of fact tone.
Optimus' expression softened, noding slightly.
"I do," He said gently, causing Arcee to look down, only looking up as Optimus placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Arcee, what happened that night was not your-"
Arcee sighed heavily, gently shrugging Optimus's hand off of her shoulder, shaking her head.
"I don't want to hear it right now, Prime," She said simply
"I could have stopped it. I didn't. therefore, i carry the blame, " she stated before walking away.
"This guilt you carry with you Arcee...do not let it consume your spark"
Arcee paused in her step, looking sighing softly as she shook her head once more. A little softer than the last time.
"Yeah..." She said a melancholic scoff before continuing on her path.
