Grant found himself sitting on the very same medical bed in the autobot base that he had upon arrival.

Outside the medical bay, Arcee was stood with Optimus, who looked rather displeased.

"You disobeyed a direct order, Arcee. I am not impressed, " Optimus said sternly, causing the smaller bot to look down.

"I know, sir."

"My orders to stay away from mister Hocksted were quite clear," he said with a sigh.

"I know, sir."

"Then why in the name of the Allspark? Did you take him out of the base?" Optimus questioned in frustration.

Arcee thought for a moment before sighing, hanging her head slightly.

"I just... wanted to keep his mind busy."

"I... don't follow," Optimus remarked.

"Grant is humam. Optimus. He can't just sit here, underground without proper food, water... a bathroom, let alone entertainment of some sort!"

"He'd go crazy." Arcee stated bluntly.

Optimus seemed puzzled by the Fem-bot's statement.

"A "bathroom?" He questioned.

"W-Well, it's a place where humans....never mind,"  Arcee stated quickly, opting to change the topic.

"Sir. Permission to speak freely?" Arcee asked with an uncertain tone in her voice.

"Granted," Optimus said in a slight tone of curiosity.

"The only reason I was so...offended you didn't place me in charge of Grant is my knowledge of his kind."

"Yes, Ares has her...potential, she needs to learn,"

"But I know humans." Arcee explained in a slightly upset tone.

Optimus stood in thought, uncrossing his arms as he looked into the medical room.

"Very well....I will allow you to...advise Ares on how to look after Grant"

"If need be, you may step in for Ares from time to time," Optimus said in thought.

Arcee's eyes widened in surprise.

"Wait. Really?" She asked in confusion.

"Yes. While I have reservations about your reasoning to involve yourself with him, "

"I believe it could be....useful, to have a..."human expert" involved"

Within the medical room, Grant was sat as Ratchet used a cotton swab to wipe the blood from his mouth.

"Thank god you didn't break it this time," Grant said as Ratchet retracted the swab between his giant fingers.

"Humans. Tiny things, " Ratchet grumbled as he fully stood up.

"Fragile too..." he remarked as he dropped the swab into a scanner of a sort.

"Hey, I'm alive!" Grant snapped in response.

Ratchet looked back to Grant, raising an eyebrow.

"That is precisely what I am confused about. That impact should have killed you. It would have most for humans"

"Yet here you sit with a few minor bone fractures and deep bruising," the medic said in a matter of fact tone.

Grant paused, his eyes widening.

"The blast threw me that hard?" The teen asked in alarm.

"Indeed. The explosion coupled with Arcee's velocity at the time sent you flying into that tree with enough force that your spine should have been shattered. " Ratchet informed.

"And now with thie blood sample from you, I will be able to answer the question of what is wrong with your biology," Ratchet said bluntly, earning a slight scowl from Grant

"Wrong?" Grant questioned coldly.

"Yes. Wrong"

"You are a human, producing energon, along with abnormalities in your physical structure that allow for increased durability. I believe "wrong" is a suitable term, " Ratchet remarked in a matter of fact tone. Walking over to Grant

"Stand up," Ratchet said simply, motioning for Grant to do so.

Grant let out a slight pained grunt as he stood. His legs threatened to give out.

"Okay... that burns." Grant said through grit teeth.

"Of course it does. You have fractures all along your ribcage, and spine, " Ratchet said with a slight dismissive tone.

"If you are going to be staying around here. Then you need to learn to be careful"

"And to listen to your physician. No strenuous physical activity for a day or two...that should be enough for your...odd regenerative properties"
