Luffy was waiting for Law outside the pool entrance. They were in Red Line High and first period was about to end. Luffy slipped out of her first period class, Art, and headed to the pool. She knew Law would be there because they texted each other countlessly.

As Luffy was waiting outside of the doors and peeking in, she saw Law pushing himself out of the pool. She saw all of Law's gorgeous abs -through the swim-shirt he was wearing- with water dripping off of them. Luffy felt time stop around her. Law and herself were falling into a classic rom-com and she was one of the main characters.

It was a classic pool scene where one of the characters is doing something smoking hot and was doing it in slow-motion just to appeal to the other character who was blushingly watching them.

If Luffy wasn't red already, she definitely was now. She hid halfway behind the poor entrance door as she watched the boy she was not supposed to be, falling in love with.

But, like all romance movies, the scene ends and Law is walking away from her. She caught a glimpse at Law's beautiful butt when he was walking to the changerooms.

What is with these thoughts Luffy?! You can't like him! She looks at his back muscles hidden by the shirt and the water glimmering off them... Okay, maybe you can. But you can't like him. He doesn't even want to be friends with you so what's the point?

Luffy found it rather infuriating how she wasn't allowed to like Law. She just couldn't. There was no point in it. Law didn't want to be her friend. Much less a romantic partner.

She did try to get close with him however. When they walked to school together, she made a move to try and hold his hand. Or when they were on the bus on rainy days she would rest her head on the other's shoulder. Luffy also tried to give him compliments too! "You mean so much to me", "I love it when you cook, your food is delicious", "You're so smart", "I like your outfit".

Law doesn't not like these forms of flirting. He seems to love them. He blushes and whispers out a "thanks" or a "thank you Luffy-ya". And when she rests her head on his shoulder Law wraps an arm around her. When Luffy holds Law's hand Law squeezes it lightly.

It's almost as if Law wants what Luffy wants. But he can't.

Luffy likes seeing how Law reacts to her flirting and continues it. Even though Law may not want the relationship or not.

Luffy tries desperately to find out what is keeping Law from chasing her and her love. She knows Law wants to be with her.

Why won't he let himself like me?

Luffy is taken out of her thoughts when her friend Nami comes to greet her. "Hey Loof!"

Luffy turns around surprised. "Hey Nami! What's up?" Nami joins beside her to see what she's looking at.

She knows fairly well though. She comes here every day. "Looking at Law again?" She asks slyly.

The other blushes furiously and immediately denies. "N-no." She says pouting.

Nami rolls her eyes and tugs her friend's shirt playfully. "Come on, period two is starting in five minutes!"

Right before Luffy goes along with her, she looks back seeing if the older guy is still there. Gone. Luffy walks to her next class with Nami, leaving Law to shower and change.
