They all hopped into Ace's car and drove silently to the sheriff's office. Luffy knew that Law didn't want to be alone that night so she joined him in the back seat.

Once they got there, Law told Luffy that he was okay to walk so he was walking with a little help from his partner.

They got into the police station and this pink haired boy greeted them. "Good evening! How can I help you?"

Ace spoke for the three of them. "We need to file for a restraining order and press charges against a man named Donquixote Doflamingo"

The officer nodded his head, "Hm, okay, I can take you to the sheriff's office and he can help you out."

He led the three of them to the office. "Sir, we have three people asking for you!"

"Let them in Koby," he called through the door. Koby turned to look at them then walked away.

Sheriff Smoker. Law read the name tag on the desk as he was sitting down.

"So, what can I do you guys for?" Smoker started, lighting a cigarette.

Luffy spoke for Law, she knew that her boyfriend was feeling a bit shaken up. "Thank you for seeing us sir, we just wanted to press child abuse charges on a man named Donquixote Doflamingo and file a restraining order against him."

Luffy sure is blunt. Straight to the point. Law thought as he looked down.

Smoker grunted in response and got out a notepad. "I see. Do you have any proof that he was being abused?"

"He has bruises and scars all over himself!" Luffy said defensively.

"Yes, but... in court, someone could argue that it was just one fight. Fight at school, one time beating, list goes on." Smoker responded nonchalantly.

Luffy got a bit pissed, "What, so you want him to get beaten again? He was abused for years! Tell him Law!"

Luffy looked to her partner and Law took a breath. "I-it's true sheriff. He's been doing this since I was like... six?"

Smoker hummed, satisfied with his answer. "Okay, what did you say his name was again?"

"Donquixote Doflamingo." Law answered quickly. "If you give me a day, I can take pictures of my scars and send them to you."

"Okay kid, that'll work. And for the restraining order, what's your name?"

"Trafalgar D. Water Law."

Smoker paused and looked up. "Trafalgar?"

Law nodded worriedly, "Yeah..."

"Is your father a doctor? I knew someone with the same name as yours. We went to school together." Smoker admitted.

Law perked up and widened his eyes. "Really? My dad grew up in All Blue City, are you sure?"

"Yes, I grew up in the city too then I moved out here with my wife. Now I know you're telling the truth. Don't worry, I'll make sure personally that this flamingo guy doesn't get away. Tell me, how is the old man doing?" Smoker replied to him.

Law looked down solemnly, "He... He died when I was five... House fire got out of control. Both of my parents died."

Smoker bowed his head too. "I'm sorry. I'm guessing that's why you're in Doflamingo's care."

Law nodded. "Yeah. Something like that. If you could call it care. Hey... can you also make a restraining order against him for Luffy too?"

Smoker nodded. "Sure kid. Okay, now where do you live Law?"

"1428 Flevance Avenue"

"Okay, we're gonna send a couple a' cops there now. Want us to pick up any personal belongings for you? Because the house is a crime scene it'll be only cops allowed in there. You should also have another space to stay in." Smoker explained.

Law paused for a moment, then whispered to Luffy, "Bepo, I left him there." He bowed his head in embarrassment.

"Do you think you can sleep without him tonight?" Luffy whispered back.

"I don't know." Law sounded like he was going to cry.

"Sir, one thing. There's a stuffed polar bear in one of the bedrooms, Bepo, can you please drop him off to us?" Luffy spoke on his behalf.

Smoker raised a brow in curiosity but said nothing about it, only confirmed that he would make sure it was given to them. Luffy gave him her name and her address and then they were off.

Finally they were done. Law felt a little more confident about his case. The next step was to go back to Luffy's apartment and wait for the officers to give back Bepo.

On their way back to Ace's car, Law was on Luffy's back falling asleep. Luffy let him, he had a long day.

All in one blink of an eye, Law was in Luffy's bed. How'd he get here? He tried to sit up but Luffy pushed him back down.

"You feel asleep on me when we got out of the police station. We're still waiting for the police officers to drop off Bepo. Hopefully they'll drop off clothes too. I forgot to ask them that." Luffy ranted to him while she took a seat on the bed.

"I'm sorry for dragging you and your sister into this Lu-ya." Law ducked his head down and gave a deep breath. For the tenth time that night he had the urge to cry.

Luffy gave him a small smile, "You have nothing to worry about. I care about you. A lot. We'll find a way to beat this and 'mingo will be in jail."

She lifted Law's chin up so that she can see his face. She came closer and planted a kiss onto his plush lips. It was sudden but not all surprises are bad, are they?

When they parted the kiss, Luffy giggled, "I like the new nickname for me by the way. Lu-ya. You're so cute Torao!"

Law blushed a very deep red and buried his head into Luffy's shoulder.

"So... you ready to go to bed now or do you wanna stay up a little longer? It's only 8:00 now so we'll do what you wanna do tonight." Luffy told him.

"Maybe we can watch more of that pirate anime you got me addicted to... what was it, One Piece, or something?" Law responded as he rose his head up to look at her.

So they ended up watching One Piece while waiting for the cops to come. Law was falling asleep wrapped up in a blanket and cuddling into Luffy's side. Luffy had an arm around his shoulders. It was complete bliss.

Just as Law was falling asleep, the door was being knocked on. Bang, bang, bang!

Like last time, Law got startled by the loud noise and Luffy kissed his head before answering the door. The same cop with pink hair answered... Koby if Luffy remembered correctly.

"I know you said just the bear but Sheriff Smoker said that Law might need clothes and his school things too." Koby gestured to the backpack with the polar bear key chain on it.

"Thank you officer!" Luffy thanked him and then closed the door.

When she got back Law was asleep, fell over onto the spot Luffy was sitting on. Luffy just chuckled to herself and grabbed another blanket for herself. She slowly fell asleep.

Things would be tough for a bit. With the town being small and gossip being wide. However, the newly young couple would adjust to the changes and support each other through thick and thin.
