Hello, long time no see. I've had this chapter in my drafts for bloody ages and I've always loved it so I thought why not finally post it but this chapter was made before I changed the storyline to my story so in this one Blair and Mark ARENT married or a thing, and Ryder unfortunately wasn't born. Just wanted to clear that up, I'm also gonna put a trigger warning for physical abuse in here but it is scream so it's never rainbows and unicorns...also this would've been set between scream 3 and 4 but anyway enjoy!

Welcome to the day Blair Atredies gave in to her demons. She'd reached her breaking point, turns out marriage wasn't for her. Jason Sinclair was a white collared businessman who worked on Wall Street, he was sweet and captivating when Blair first met him in 2002 but then he became sour and toxic. Blair had his daughter in 2004, Ruby August Atredies. She was perfect and she looked like her mother which Blair was overly thankful for but Jason very rarely done anything for either girls, in the beginning he welcomed Blair and Jade with open arms- Blair was sure it was all a show. But like their marriage it all came crashing down, he didn't give Jade any attention and Ruby he didn't want the responsibility of a young child. When Blair confronted him about it, it ended with her with a red hand print on her cheek. He swore it was a accident, that it wouldn't happen again, he was just under a lot of pressure at work and was taking his frustration out on his family...that was a fucking lie
It happened more than once and one time Jade saw him punch her mother leaving her with a black eye, she screamed rushing to her mother but Blair begged her to go, told her it was okay; that she was okay. Jade didn't by it, she hated Jason Sinclair with a burning passion but she loved Ruby. She didn't want her sister to witness or hear any of the arguments that echoed through the house, so whenever she heard her step dad enter she immediately took Ruby into her room showing her a new CD she'd gotten. When she asked Blair about it, her mother had hesitant to tell her the truth but Jade wasn't a little kid anymore- well at that moment she was 11 turning 12 but she understood how the world worked. Anyway, Blair explained her situation, she wanted a divorce and he didn't. She couldn't understand why, they were toxic and she was pretty sure he was cheating on her- that was no surprise, let's just say she found a thong that certainly wasn't hers beside their bed...she was ready to draw blood
Blair promised jade that she'd get them all away from him, that they wouldn't have to worry anymore. That was a understatement. Anyway, after speaking with Nick O'Connor (who'd managed to threaten Sinclair with jail time into signing the papers) she managed to get her divorce finalised: 15th May 2009. That was now her favourite day of the year!...she's not a bad mother she loved her kids birthdays too but this day marked freedom for the whole family; she got full custody of Ruby too
