The dance battle was still ongoing and more than half of the new International's team had been established. Noah, West, Max, Eldon and Cierra had all made the team. This meant that The Next Step and Elite were tied three for three. Michelle's absence had been granted by Kate and Lucien but only on the condition that she'd be counted as an Elite win.
There were only seven more spaces left in the team and neither her nor Daniel had been called to compete yet.
James and Riley were up next to complete. James looked devastated, his face dropping and Riley, on the other hand, looked close to tears. The strain of this whole competition was catching up to her and if her face wasn't enough evidence to go by then the lack of eye contact she made told everyone that she was defeated.
Marie:
"This must be killing James inside. I mean if I was in his position I honestly would not know what to do. I think I would probably cry and then run away"
In the music room, the two were begrudgingly rehearsing their solos but the sadness they exhibited made it literally impossible for the two to concentrate on the competition at hand.
"I don't think I can do this" Riley breathes out
"No"
"What?"
"No" James stated in a uncharacteristically harsh tone
James:
"I know this is hurting Riley but we need to do this for the team and I know she cares for the team. If it was Piper or Rie I was going against I would say the same thing. All I want is for Riley to dance her best and not let something like this hold her back."
