~Beatrice~

Beatrice stirred when a suspiciously Ava-shaped weight settled down onto her body. She could feel small puffs of breath caressing her neck. Careful to keep her face slack, the sister warrior pretended to be still asleep, seeing how patient the younger woman would be.

It didn't take long before Ava squirmed a little, huffing impatiently and letting out the quietest whine. Lips touched the edge of her jaw, feather light, and dragged slowly down the column of her throat; she felt the littlest lick from the tip of a tongue at her sensitive pulse point. Beatrice couldn't stop the smile forming at that.

"Oh, so you are awake then." She could hear the pout in Ava's tone.

Beatrice opened her eyes and grinned teasingly up at her girlfriend, "Sorry I thought I could have a sleep in on my birthday…"

"Oh my God, is that what you wanted? I'm so sorry, I'll leave." Ava looked absolutely horrified as she began to pull away.

Beatrice quickly wrapped her arms and legs around the Halo bearer, "Like hell you will."

Lifting her face to Ava's she licked into her mouth, smiling at the younger woman's moan. Beatrice ran her fingers down Ava's back and up under her shirt, scratching her nails across the skin she found there, just the way she knew her girlfriend liked. Ava shivered a little, tilting her head to deepen the kiss, Beatrice sighed into her mouth moving her hands down to the waistband of Ava's shorts.

Ava abruptly pulled back, "Nope, none of that! We have birthday plans. You need to get up!"

Beatrice groaned with disappointment as the other woman untangled herself and stood. Ava grinned at her expression, leaning in to give her a quick hard kiss.

"Don't worry, there will be plenty of time for that later." She winked.

Beatrice dressed slowly; Ava had told her to wear something that she could hike in for the first part of 'Bea's best birthday ever'. It had been almost a whole year since the end of the Holy war, almost a whole year of her and Ava living the domestic life in Switzerland, back at their old apartment.

The toaster popping and a curse word sounded out in the kitchen and Beatrice chuckled to herself, Ava never waited long enough for the toast to cool before putting it on a plate, always too eager.

One of the things I love about her.

After breakfast, they set out on the trail towards the lake, their linked hands swinging between them. Ava was carrying a plain black backpack on her back, the contents of which she refused to tell Beatrice. Arriving at their favorite secluded spot, Ava dropped the backpack by a tree and turned to Beatrice.

“Swim with me?” She began pulling off her clothes, leaving the taller woman speechless as she stripped down to nude.

“What if someone sees us?” Beatrice gulped, unable to stop her eyes from sweeping down her girlfriend’s body.

Ava grinned devilishly, noticing the path of the other woman’s gaze, she stepped forward and placed her hands on Beatrice’s waist, pulling her close.

“That’s what makes it more exciting.” She whispered, running her tongue along the shell of Beatrice’s ear, making her shiver.

Ava stepped back abruptly, “Come on Bea!” She said as she turned and sprinted into the lake with a yelp at the cold water.

That evening was spent at the bar. Beatrice was surprised when Ava announced that the amazing picnic she had put together at the lake wasn’t the only treat she had planned.

“Are you sure about this?” Beatrice asked, observing her reflection in the full-length mirror in their bedroom.

Ava insisted on her dressing in a tightly fitting and short black dress for their night out. It really wasn’t Beatrice’s style and besides they were just going to La Vasseur, the bar they worked at wasn’t exactly a nightclub.

“Come on Bea. Pleeeeease? It's a special occasion and I bet you look super hot!” Ava yelled from the bathroom where she was getting herself ready.

“Okay, fine.” Beatrice sighed, meeting her own gaze in the mirror.

She was wearing a light amount of makeup as well at Ava’s request, she wasn’t really a makeup kind of person, it wasn’t exactly practical for fighting demons in. But she had to admit, the dark eyeliner and mascara did make her eyes stand out, and her maroon lipstick, well, it did accentuate her already full lips.

I do look kind of hot.

“Wow. You're gonna be fighting them off with a stick…get it?” Ava was looking at her reflection from the bathroom doorway, their eyes met in the mirror, the younger woman winked.

Ignoring the bad pun, Beatrice turned to her girlfriend, taking in her outfit with a gaping mouth. Ava was wearing a forest green crop top and matching skirt, just as tight as her own dress.

“What do you think?” The younger woman asked, a little unsure by the long silence.

Beatrice gulped and lifted her eyes from where they were staring greedily at Ava’s exposed midriff, “You look incredible.”

Her girlfriend gave her a gentle smile, closing the distance between them to give Beatrice a chaste peck on the lips.

“Thanks babe. Come on, we’re already late.” Ava tugged her towards the door.

“Because of you! I've been ready for half an hour.” She replied, allowing herself to be towed out the apartment, chuckling at the wounded look Ava gave her.

“Do you know how hard it was to get this skirt on?” The younger woman defended herself.

“No... but I hope it's easy to get off later.” Beatrice retorted with a little smirk as Ava flushed.
