~Beatrice~

"Wow, Father Vincent did good." Ava stated as she craned her neck to admire the ornately painted high ceilings of the atrium.

The hotel they were staying in oozed luxury, expensive leather couches were strewn over the marble floors, most of them occupied by a sister warrior. There were at least half a dozen crystal chandeliers hanging in the lobby alone. Father Vincent himself and Mother Superior were currently talking to the clerk at the desk checking in. It was late afternoon.

“This is the only hotel that was able to be completely hired out and has facilities for training.” Camilla yawned from beside Beatrice, tired from the long drive.

The sister warrior nodded, that made sense, must’ve cost a pretty penny though, her eyes lingered on the very expensive looking tapestries lining the walls. Mother Superior and Vincent began handing key cards out to the woman waiting on the couches, eventually the OCS members began to disperse to their assigned rooms.

“You and Ava have the penthouse suite for security reasons.” Mother Superior handed Beatrice their key card, Ava bounced on her toes in excitement.

“What? No fair.” Camilla whined, taking her and Yasmine’s key card from Vincent.

“It’s the only room on that floor, Sister Camilla. And it only has one entrance, the lift, which is easily defendable, we must protect the Halo bearer.” Mother Superior explained patiently.
The young nun nodded, scowling when Ava poked her tongue out from behind Mother Superior.

“Ava don’t be a child, or I’ll share with you instead of Beatrice.” The older woman warned, causing the Halo bearer to snap her mouth shut with an audible click.

Beatrice chuckled quietly picking up her duffel bag and weapons case from the floor, “You coming Ava?”

The penthouse suite was enormous, it had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a massive lounge area adjoining a luxury balcony. Beatrice dumped her duffel on one of the massive king-sized beds, smiling to herself when Ava put her own bag on it as well, she loved that it went without saying that they would be sharing a bed. Beatrice freshened up in the ensuite bathroom after the long trip, listening to Ava exploring their room as she splashed water onto her face.

She’s definitely going to break something while we are here.

Beatrice grinned at herself in the mirror as she heard the telltale sounds of Ava dropping something.

“It’s all good, I saved it.” The younger woman called out to her before Beatrice could ask.

With a deep sigh, the sister warrior plopped herself down on the insanely expensive but also rather comfortable lounge suite, Ava was sitting on the floor in front of the T.V. trying to figure out how it worked. Evidence of the Halo bearer’s discovery of the minibar was strewn across the coffee table behind her.

Mother Superior had sent the entire team a message to say they were bunking down for the night and that everyone would receive training schedules in the morning. Therefore, they had the entire evening to relax and unwind after the drive.

“What do you want to watch? There’s movie channels and cartoons and soap operas. Literally anything you could think of.” The younger woman said, flicking through the channels mindlessly.

“Whatever you like, darling.” Beatrice tipped her head back against the top of the couch closing her eyes, exhausted from being constantly on guard for anything Reya related, the stress was starting to take its toll on her.

She suddenly felt Ava’s weight settling in her lap, her legs straddling her. The taller woman kept her head back and her eyes shut as the Halo bearer’s hands caressed her cheeks and jaw, drifting down to knead the tops of her shoulders gently.

“Tired?” She whispered, dragging her lips over the shell of Beatrice’s ear, making the sister warrior shiver.

"Mmmhmm." She hummed in reply, feeling the knots in her muscles relaxing at Ava’s touch.

Ava’s mouth moved down her neck, placing slow languid kisses across the sensitive skin, the sister warrior began feeling a familiar heat stoking in her belly. Lifting her head, Beatrice brought her hands up to the Halo bearer’s jaw, guiding her mouth up to kiss her gently, Ava hummed happily, wrapping her arms around the sister warrior's neck, fingers easing the hair tie from her hair, letting it out of its tight bun.

Their lips moving against each other, Beatrice opened her mouth, letting Ava’s tongue stroke her own, feeling a jolt of pleasure at each touch. The Halo bearer moaned quietly, obviously enjoying it as much as the sister warrior was. Beatrice moved her hands down to the hem of Ava’s t-shirt, sliding underneath it to spread her fingers across the small of her back. The younger woman inhaled sharply at the feeling, pulling back to look Beatrice in the eye.

“Want it off?” Ava smirked, raising an eyebrow, the sister warrior nodded, swallowing thickly, it still amazed her daily that she could have Ava like this.

The Halo bearer winked at her and sat back enough to start pulling her shirt over her head.

A crack of purple power echoed through the room.

“Oh my fucking God! Not again! Is this all you two ever fucking do? Don’t you dare take your shirt off Ava!” Lilith commanded, covering her eyes.

~Ava~

Ava groaned, dropping her forehead onto the top of the couch cushion beside Bea’s head.

Are you fucking kidding me?

“What the hell Lilith? Cock block much.” She whined, looking up at the winged woman.

“Trust me, that…” She gestured at the two of them, “...is the last thing I want to be witness too.”

Ava felt Bea shaking underneath her, worried she pulled back and looked down at the sister warrior’s face. Bea was laughing silently, tears in her eyes. Ava pouted.

“Sorry…” She cleared her throat, “Sorry darling. It’s just hilarious that out of everyone, Lilith is the one who keeps walking in, or teleporting in, on us.” Bea grinned.

Ava was glad that the sister warrior wasn’t feeling ashamed of being caught again, but couldn’t help feeling a little sexually frustrated, especially after the incident in the gas station restroom earlier. The Halo bearer let out a squeak of surprise as Bea lifted her easily off her lap, so she was now sitting on the couch beside her.

Well, that was kind of hot.

“Why are you here Lilith?” The sister warrior asked, her tone becoming more serious.

The so-called Queen of Hell walked around the back of the couch and sat down heavily in the armchair across from them, swiping a hand over her face. She looked weary, Ava could see a new, now scale covered scar on her neck.

“I’m here because Reya has stepped up her attacks against Hell.” Lilith sighed, absentmindedly rubbing a hand across the scar on her throat.
“I’m concerned she’ll soon send tarasks here as well.”

Bea stiffened beside Ava, the Halo bearer glanced at the other woman’s face, seeing the color draining from it. Ava knew that Bea's worst fear was not being able to protect her…again. She carefully took Bea’s hand, rubbing small comforting circles on the back of it.

“What do you suggest?” Ava questioned, turning back to the former sister warrior.

“I think it would be best if I stay in this realm so I can be of assistance if necessary.” Lilith replied begrudgingly.
“I also think I should train with you as Reya and I have similar powers, it will be better preparation for facing her.”

Ava made a face, she couldn’t help it, the memories she had of training with Lilith when she first received the halo weren’t exactly pleasant.

“Dr Salvius is still looking into why the halo activated when you touched her. Until we know for sure, it's not safe to train. Especially if you think Reya will send tarasks after us.” Bea spoke up.

Lilith looked uncomfortable, “Very well. I will stay and when we hear back from Salvius, we will begin training.”

“Where will you stay?” Ava had a bad feeling.

“Here. It's better if she's close, especially if a tarask spawns near you. We have the second bedroom.” Bea answered firmly.

Ava groaned.

“Hey, I don’t like it just as much as you.” Lilith grumbled.
“Absolutely no hanky panky while I’m here.”

Ava just groaned again. Louder.
