~Ava~

Ava was horny. Like super-duper can’t concentrate on anything else horny. Since they had acquired their less than helpful roommate, the Halo bearer barely got to kiss Bea without an immediate reprimanding. The thing that really drove her crazy though, was that the sister warrior didn’t seem phased by their lack of physicality at all. Bea just got up early, went for a run and went about their training schedule as normal. Ava felt like she was going insane with want. The final straw was one evening when Lilith and the Halo bearer were sitting watching T.V, Bea entered the lounge after a shower, hair wet, skin glowing from the hot water.

Gorgeous as ever.

Ava smiled up at her as she walked past, subconsciously scooching over so Bea could sit close to her on the couch, but the sister warrior chose the other end of the couch. The other fucking end! Ava sat stewing for a while, sneaking glances at the other woman who had pulled out her book to read. She wanted Bea to feel as needy and horny as she felt, abruptly she had an excellent idea.

Maybe it’s time to exact my vengeance for the restroom incident.

The next couple of days passed in a blur of pain for Ava. To say training with Lilith was going poorly would be an understatement. The former sister warrior basically beat the ever-loving shit out of her daily, her superior speed and strength bested the Halo bearer at every turn. And they hadn’t even started sparing with teleportation being an option for Lilith. Ava was starting to think that without the halo being active they were doomed to fail in their endeavor to kill Reya.

At least Ava had something to distract herself with, her plan to drive Bea crazy with want was so far going off without a hitch. The Halo bearer had started by casually wearing more revealing and tighter fitting clothing. She had noticed Bea’s eyes lingering on her more and more, particularly on her cleavage when she wore lower cut tops. Anytime she caught her in the act, Ava would give the sister warrior a knowing smirk and a wink, causing the taller woman to redden and look away quickly.

The next step of her ‘make Bea jump her bones’ scheme was touching. Ava had become the master of needless casual touching while they had been hiding from Adriel in Switzerland. A slow brush of her hand across sister warrior’s back when passing behind her at the bar, or nudging Bea with her hip to get her attention in the kitchen of their apartment, or even, when Ava was feeling extra brave, a goodbye kiss on the cheek that would linger a moment too long to be platonic.

She knew that those little moments really affected Bea back then, often drawing blood into her cheeks or a shuddering breath from her lungs, now on the other hand, the sister warrior seemed almost impervious to them. It was very frustrating and if Ava was being honest, disheartening. She decided she would have to take drastic measures.

“Ava, can you hear me?” Bea’s worried face hovered above her, while she tried to stave off unconsciousness.

During a particularly intense training session Lilith had landed a ferocious left hook to her temple, sending Ava to the ground hard.

She groaned.

“Get up.” Lilith growled from somewhere behind Bea.

Ava watched as the sister warrior’s face became dangerous, Bea stood suddenly, whirling around to face the winged woman.

“That's enough for today.” The taller woman’s voice was chillingly quiet.

“What? We’ve only just started?”

“Bea it’s okay, I’m fine.” Ava winced as she struggled to sit up, head pounding, worried that the sister warrior may actually kill the other woman.

Lilith tilted her head, refusing to back down, “Beatrice, how do you expect Ava to beat Reya if you keep rescuing her.”

The Halo bearer watched the sister warrior’s hands clench into fists, so hard it had to hurt. Pain be damned, Ava managed to stagger to her feet, quickly moving forward to grab Bea’s wrist.

“Hey. Don’t. It’s not worth it.” The other woman ignored her.
“Bea please. For me?” Ava pleaded, she felt like she was going to be sick, the room spinning slightly.

Bea finally broke her eye contact with Lilith, her face softening when she looked at the delicate state Ava was in.

“Okay, come on. You need to lie down.” The sister warrior snaked an arm around her waist and guided her out of the room, but not before sending Lilith a menacing look.

~Beatrice~

Ava groaned softly from the bed. Beatrice had turned all the lights off, closed all the curtains and placed a cold flannel on the Halo bearer’s forehead, trying to ease her headache.

“Can I get you anything?” Beatrice asked her, caressing Ava’s cheek.

“A new brain.” She groaned, not opening her eyes.

Beatrice chuckled, “Sorry darling, I don’t think the local convenience store stocks those.”

Ava huffed, “Can you hold me?”

“Of course.” Beatrice carefully maneuvered herself onto the bed, trying not to jostle Ava any more than necessary, and wrapped her arms around the Halo bearer so she was spooning her, pressing a feather light kiss to the dark bruise forming on the side of her head.

Ava hummed quietly, melting into the sister warrior’s body. Beatrice felt a little jolt in her stomach at the noise, but quickly pushed it down. The last few days had been challenging for the sister warrior, not being able to act on her…urges, with Lilith staying in the penthouse suite.

Beatrice had immersed herself in research, reading her book and training trying to divert herself from her sexual impulses, but when Ava had started making it onerous by dressing provocatively, the sister warrior had had to amp up her distraction.

Every morning Beatrice ran a 10 km run as fast as she could, hoping to take the edge off her desire. The intense exercise had worked for a while, but of course Ava had then started touching her, all the time, just little insignificant touches, but they were so very hard to ignore. Beatrice had tried distancing herself from the younger woman as much as possible, attempting to only initiate touch unless she absolutely had too. But that was difficult to say the least, Ava was like a magnet constantly all around her all the time.

Ava slept on and off for most of the day, both Camilla and Mother Superior checked in on them and brought the women some food from the hotel buffet. Beatrice heard Lilith get in late afternoon, Ava was asleep with her head nestled against Beatrice’s chest, the sister warrior was reading her book while brushing her fingers through the Halo bearer’s hair, being careful of her bruise.

“Hey.” Came a whisper from the door, Beatrice looked up to see Lilith poking her head around the door frame.

“Lilith.” She bit out tersely.

The winged woman glanced at Ava, looking awkward and guilty for a moment before speaking again, “Look Bea, I’m sorry for earlier. I…I’m stressed out about what's coming, but I shouldn’t have taken it out on Ava. That’s not fair. It’s just that everything hinges on this plan.”

Beatrice nodded, keeping her face emotionless.

“Okay. Well.” Lilith nodded and ducked out of the door, closing it behind her.

Ava woke a little after 8pm that evening, yawning and stretching. Beatrice looked up from her book with a smile.

“Feeling better? You look a hell of a lot better.” She sighed, relieved.

“Mmmmm yes. Thanks for being my pillow.” Ava murmured with a wink.

Beatrice flushed, there was that look again. Clearing her throat, she looked back down to her book trying to concentrate on the words rather than the Halo bearer’s, for some reason, incredibly sexy sleep mussed hair.

Control yourself Beatrice.

“Right. Well. I’m gonna have a shower.” Beatrice could hear what sounded like disappointment in the other woman’s voice.

Beatrice listened to the shower run for a few minutes and then switch off, she could hear the door open.

There was silence.

Curious, Beatrice lifted her eyes from her book and her mouth dropped open. Ava stood leaning against the door frame of the bathroom, completely and utterly naked, her body and hair still a little wet from the shower.

Fuck.

“Sorry Bea. I forgot a towel.” The Halo bearer said with a smug expression.
“Can you throw me one?”

Heart pounding, Beatrice rose from the bed and walked out of the room.
