Chapter 7: I Can't Do This, Anymore

Int. Niijima Residence – Continuous

Makoto is lying on her bed, inside of her room, with her phone in her hand. She types a message and then hesitates, before sending it. Makoto then chooses to send the message and she places the phone on her night stand; the camera zooms in on the phone and reveals that she was texting Eiko. Makoto lays in her bed with her eyes wide open, not being able to fall asleep.

Int. Abandoned Warehouse – Afternoon

This scene is a dream sequence that shows Kaneshiro's men caressing Makoto while she is still tied to a chair. At first, tears can be seen in Makoto's eyes but, eventually, the tears stop coming out and her face turns expressionless.

Int. Niijima Residence – Morning

The date is now Sunday, June 20th and Makoto is awakened from her nightmare by the sound of her houses doorbell being rung. Makoto struggles out of bed, still wearing her pajamas and leaves her room to check out who's at the door.

Int. Niijima Residence – Continuous

Makoto rubs her eyes and both of them have dark bags under them, from a lack of sleep. She makes her way towards the front door and hears thumping coming from Sae's room. Makoto stares in the direction of her sister's room for a moment, before opening the front door of the house. Without warning, Eiko hugs Makoto, instantly, when she sees her.

Eiko Takao: Good God, I was so worried! There were rumors going around at school that you had got in some trouble. You have to tell me what happened!

Makoto stays silent as she hears the window to her sister's room being opened. Akechi dives out of the window, shirtless, with his dress shirt in his hands and lands on his face. He gets up, quickly, and panics when he notices that Eiko and Makoto are staring at him. Akechi coughs, nervously.

Goro Akechi: It's...good to see you up and around, Makoto. I-I was just heading out. Uh...

Not being able to think of anything to say, Akechi runs off, still holding his shirt, as Makoto and Eiko both watch him leave.

Eiko Takao: Uh, who's...

Makoto Niijima: The high school ace detective, Goro Akechi...

Eiko Takao: The one from America? Huh, he seems surprisingly clumsy...

Makoto Niijima: Yeah...

Eiko Takao: I swear, you have all the luck. Cute guys just swarm around you and your family...

Makoto Niijima: Did you want to come in for a little bit?

Eiko Takao: Yeah, I've always wondered what your place looked like.

Eiko makes her way into Makoto's house and the two of them head in the direction of Makoto's room, before they notice Sae leaving her room, with a disappointed expression on her face. She notices Eiko.

Sae Niijima: Oh, I didn't realize we were having company today, Makoto. Is this your friend?

Eiko Takao: Yes. We're on the student council together. Your sister is super smart and I swear she's always working her ass off, so she keeps me in line a lot of the time. You probably already know that, though.

Sae Niijima: Uh...yeah. I...think I'm going to go lay back down for a bit. Are you two okay? Do either of you need anything to eat or drink?

Eiko Takao: I'm cool, thanks though!
