Chapter 30
Elena’s P.O.V
I spent the next day talking with Jeremy, just us, like it used to be. Before everything happened. Before everything changed. We even made a fort in the back garden like we used to when we were kids, dragging out two of the dining room chairs, and some sheets, and pillows. It felt good, until he came and ruined it. Like he always does.
Jeremy and I were lying side by side, talking about what we’d like our futures to be like.
“I don’t care what I’m doing or who I am, as long as your there.” Jeremy said.
“Can’t promise that,” I whispered before continuing in a more cheery tone that he could hear.
“I want to do what mom did. Get married to the love of my life, have kids, and become someone who everyone will remember. I don’t want to be forgotten.”
“No chance of that, Princess.” Damon replied, ducking his head in. I groaned, turning away from him, trying to ignore the annoying pest. Looks like I didn’t have a choice as Damon pulled me out, and pretty much dragged me in, kicking, spitting, screaming and clawing for escape.
He pushed me onto my living room sofa, and parked himself on the coffee table.
“Now you’ve got a few minutes to calm yourself down, before I make you.” He warned, looking at me with complete sincerity in his eyes.
“Wow. A threat from Damon Salvatore. Quelle Suprise.” I rolled my eyes, and crossed my arms, before glaring at him.
“You know you’re really cute when you’re angry.” He smirked.
“Yeah, well, you’re transparent when you’re attempting to play nice. Say what you’ve got to say, then leave.”
“We need to talk about the game Friday Night.”
“I’m going, in fact I’ve got to go get changed for cheer practice so…make this quick.” I snapped.
“It’s a full moon, and it will be Toto’s first transformation. Blondie is on Werewolf patrol, but there is a chance he’ll break free of those chains down in the old Lockwood ruins. So you have to stay here.”
“Like hell I am. My name is Elena Gilbert, not Elena Salvatore. You don’t own me, so stop acting like it. I’m going to the game, I will perform with the others, and you can’t stop me. Now leave,” I ordered, standing up, and moving to the front door. He followed me, and stepped slightly out when I opened it. Getting frustrated and flustered under his blue eyed gaze, I pretty much pushed him out the door.
“Oh, and try not to kill anyone else on your travels. Killing Mason was a big mistake.”
He spun round, surprise on his face as he found out I knew. Stefan accidentally told me this morning thinking that Damon already had. I scowled at him, gave him a sarcastic wave, before I slammed the door in his face, which gave me this strange warm feeling.
Until I heard a knock on the door. I sighed, before opening the door again slowly, just poking my head around it to make sure it wasn’t him. I don’t even know why I thought it wouldn’t be him.
“I’ve got a question, and I want you to answer honestly-” Damon started, before I angrily cut him off.
“When am I ever dishonest? You’re the lying murderer!” I nearly yelled.
“Yeah, say that louder. I don’t think they heard you out in Africa,” He snapped at me.
“As I was saying. I’ve got one question, and then I’ll leave.”
