Chapter 36 -
Damon’s P.O.V
I always knew that this would happen. Elena isn’t waiting for me in bed right now, no. She’s joined the girl pity party for Bonnie. Her idiotic pathetic excuse for a dad threw her out when she and Jeremy went and broke the baby news. Which meant that Caroline and Elena had to run to her rescue. So they are probably camped out on Elena’s old bedroom floor in sleeping bags, lying on their stomachs and do what they usually do…talk about anything that isn’t important.
So where am I? I’m sitting on my couch, sipping on my best bourbon and feeling very much abandoned.
“Need company?” An irritating voice asks.
“If I were sober, then I might object. Scratch that, I would object.” She sits down next to me.
“I think we should put the past behind us, Damon. All we’re doing is succeeding in keeping tension in the room, and if I’m honest, this whole ‘I-hate-you-you-hate-me’ thing is getting boring. Because I don’t hate you, in fact, my feelings are quite the opposite.” She smiles at me, and moves in closer. Being as drunk as I currently am, I do nothing to stop her. Until she gets real close.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I demand, getting up and walking away.
She follows me, but shoves me down so she’s lying on top of me on the floor.
I don’t do anything, and her mouth smashes down against mine.
Obviously, being slightly uncomfortable on the floor, I push her up, carrying her over to the sofa, without breaking the kiss. Fully immersed in it, I didn’t hear anyone come in, until a loud gasp made me snap to my senses.

Oh dear. Uh oh. Dear lord. And this is just the first part of the chapter! You’ll love the rest. Because guess what my lovelies! This is the first chapter of the final FIVE!! If I can make them stretch out that long, that is.

Stefan’s P.O.V
“Jesus f*****g Christ!” I swore. I couldn’t believe it. I had stepped back, let Elena go and be happier with Damon, and this is how he repays me. By cheating on her with KATHERINE!!!
Rose, being 100% loyal, flew into a rage like I’ve never seen in her before. She threw herself at the pair, clawing and spiting, cursing and screaming at them. It took all my strength to pull her off them.
“She trusted you! Not just you, bitch, but the love of her life as well. She trusted you, and now she’ll hate ME when I have to tell her! Because you won’t, because you both want her to stay oblivious right?” Rose yelled.
Damon just looked at her, then looked at Katherine, then jumped up and paced the room.
“I’m giving up drinking. I really am. I’d be more sensible if I hadn’t drunk half of the liquor cabinet.” Damon murmured to himself.
Katherine just sat there with an amused look on her face.
“We all told her. We said she shouldn’t put her trust in you, and you’ve proven us right,” Rose snapped at Katherine. “You know what this will do to her, but you don’t even care! You heartless, selfish bitch.”
“I care, but the heart wants what the heart wants.” Katherine smirked.
“You don’t love him. You’re using him to fulfil some sort of hidden objective, some masked agenda, of yours, and now that its done, you won’t want him.” I said.
