Jisoo's POV

I couldn't stop staring at her.

She was standing in the kitchen, washing dishes and cooking dinner, wearing a sports bra and cycling shorts because it was the middle of summer and our home has no air conditioning. Her hair's in a messy bun and her face is makeup-less.

I was trying to write emails, trying to get my work done and she was just standing there distracting me.

What kind of temptation is the devil playing at?

I sighed and pushed my laptop away, standing from my chair and walking into the kitchen to come up behind her.

She was few inches shorter than me but I didn't mind. I had to lean down to rest my chin on her shoulder and my arms circled around her tummy. My hands locked together underneath the growing bump and I lifted them up, feeling the weight she had to carry every day in my arms.

She practically melted in my embrace, her head lolling to the side and her eyes fluttering shut. "That's nice," She hums, I kiss her forehead because I couldn't help it.

"Does that feel good?" I murmur, kissing her again.

"Like a literal weight has been lifted off of me." She laughs at her own joke.

We stay like that for some time, me holding her bump as she breathes in and out gently. "I'm gonna have to put her down sometime soon baby." I break the news to her and watch her face scrunch up.

"Okay but slowly, not like last time." She says, referring to the time when I had released her bump way too quickly and her legs nearly gave way at the sudden shock of the weight.

I gently lowered her bump so it was no longer in my arms and she sighed. Her hand landed on top of it, she smoothed her hand over her belly and spoke, "You're gonna be a big girl aren't you." She coos, "It's okay mama doesn't mind carrying you."

I smile and cup her face in my hands. Her hair was all over the place and her eyes were tired from lack of sleep due to the discomfort of sleeping with a baby in her belly. "Thank you," I whisper, kissing the tip of her nose.

She flashes me my favourite gummy smile. But this gummy smile was the type when she's tired but content at the same time. When she's trying her best but she's also okay with that.

"I'll run you a bath after dinner." I try to help her when I can. She likes to be all Miss Independent with people but I force her to rely on me for a few things.

When we finish eating, which was delicious by the way-- my girl makes the best food, I clean up our plates and give her time to sit down. She doesn't like being on her feet for too long. I help her to the couch and put her feet up, switching on FRIENDS and making her a bowl of milk ice cream and strawberry, her favourite.

I walk upstairs to run her a bath as promised and catch a glimpse of the door to our baby's nursery slightly ajar. We'd been shopping for baby clothes earlier on in the day, Jennie was obsessed with buying her clothes already and she wasn't even born yet.

My eyes darted around the room and my heart swelled at the sight of the small cot with a little mobile with sea creatures hanging from it. We wanted to give the baby's room a nautical theme since Jennie was having a water birth. The baby was also already obsessed with being in the water. Sometimes, in the earlier stages of her pregnancy, I'd have to run Jennie a bath in the middle of the night so that the baby would quiet down.

I glanced down at the little outfit on the rocking chair that we'd laid out at the very beginning of the pregnancy. It would be the first outfit she would wear when she was born and had little pink starfishes on it. I picked up one of the tiny socks and held it in the palm of my hand. I couldn't believe I'd soon have a baby with feet this tiny!

I couldn't wait to be a Maa. I couldn't wait to see Jennie as a mum. I just loved my life really.
