Paramnesia. A disorder of the memory in which dreams or fantasies are confused with reality.

This is what Hermione believed she was suffering from. The last thing she could remember clearly was reading through a stack of books in the library and suddenly feeling like her body was too heavy to hold up.

She allowed herself the rest even though she had been sleeping pretty decent these past couple of days. Granted her nights were filled with a certain blond-haired Slytherin, her nightmares were kept at bay and her mind was able to rest.

However the moment she let her eyes fall shut, Mione felt the darkest part of her mind take over. Her senses became blinded by the dangerous creature which took the form of a handsome man. His allure was powerful enough to keep her locked in his grip and render her powerless.

Certainly such a man could not have been real. Never in her life had she ever come across a man like thim. Then again...seeing his eyes burning crimson and his fangs proved that he was no man at all. A vampire!

Her entire body shivered from the way his hands proceeded to score down her sides and feel out each curve of her figure. It was like he was studying her. The same way a predator circled its prey before it decided to strike. And he had ...

Clipped visions of those lethal claws of his, and how they raked down her scarred forearm had her muscles tensing. After all was said and done he'd attacked her and vanished into thin air like a phantom.

Violence aside, the one thing that really seemed to bother her the most was how this other vampire spoke to her. It was as though he had known her for years. His tone was calm and collected up until the very end where his temper was beginning to slip. He had spoken of Malfoy and of a cycle—a transition—that she was apparently already going through. She couldn't even begin to comprehend what to make of that. And amongst all the snarling and groping of her body, this creature had whispered a deadly promise that he would see her again.

" ... Believe me when I say that I will be seeing you very soon, my flower... "

His words hung in the back of her head like a frightening shadow that was just waiting to consume what was left of her. She wanted to believe that none of it was real. But the notion of doubt over something that appeared so real to her... it was just too impossible. It had to have been real. But what occurred after that felt even more surreal than the dream itself.

She felt a large pair of hands grab at her shoulders, shaking her to wake up. When her heavy eyes peered open her breath stalled in her lungs as she gaped at the two Slytherins that were looming over her with apparent concern all over their faces.

She believed it had been Zabini standing in the background, but kneeling just inches away from her was the very man that she had been avoiding for days.

Only this version of Draco was not the same one she could remember from all those months back. Through the distorted blurriness, she saw that his features were darkened by death and the whites of his eyes had been drowning in seas of black. Her nerves spiked when he pulled back to bare his fangs.

" Draco, stop! " she gasped out loud.

Hermione woke up with a jolt, completely out of breath and with a thin film of sweat dotting her head. She tried sitting up but found that the upper part of her body was being restrained by a strong pair of arms. A strange warmness surrounded her body like a blanket. Although her eyes were still heavy with sleep, Mione was able to see that she was no longer in the library. But why the hospital wing?

"Take it easy," a familiar, masculine voice spoke sharply.

Thousands of goosebumps trailed up and along her arms. Her stomach twisted and all remnants of exhaustion had easily disappeared. Slowly, she moved her one free arm to feel around for the stiff body that lay behind her. Her fingers brushed over the pale arm of her captor. Hearing his breathing become hitched made her lower lip tremble.
