Katie shook Jace repeatedly, attempting to wake him up as the sirens got closer.
"Get up!" She hissed, shaking his shoulder forcefully. He groaned and pulled the blanket over his head. "Alright, fine," Katie muttered, heading to the kitchen and grabbing a cup of water, "you did this to yourself."
Jace jolted awake as the blanket was ripped off his head and freezing water splashed over him. He screamed, quite femininely- to Katie's amusement, and fell off the couch.
"Why?!" He yelled, shaking water off him and standing up while coughing up water.
Katie shrugged, smirking, "you wouldn't get up, and the cops are on our asses again, we have to leave." Jace rolled his eyes, using the blanket to dry his face and chest. "Nice fat," Katie teased with a devilish grin, poking his almost six pack as she walked past.
Jace glared at her, "I'm not fat! And the couch was too warm for a shirt last night." Jace complained.
"Yeah, sure it was." Katie called sarcastically over her shoulder, "Says the boy who was hiding under a warm blanket a second ago."
"I wasn't hiding!" Jace argued, pulling his shirt back on. She was infuriating in the most likable way possible.
"Mmmmhhh, whatever you say Mr. Hollister"
"Oh shut up!" Jace defended, shaking his head and narrowing his eyes.
"Hmmm, last I recall I didn't take orders from you, or anyone else for that matter..." Katie tapped her chin thoughtfully, expressing her refusal to shut up. Jace continued glaring daggers at her, causing her devilish grin to widen. "Oh I'm just loving how easy you are to annoy," Katie said through a laugh as Jace scowled at her. He just shook his head, walking past her and grabbing some remaining food out of the fridge.
"Oh chill already! I let you drag me to that stupid dance and I did a trust fall. I've earned the right to annoy you for at least a day!" Katie argued, rolling her eyes at his over-sensitive attitude.
"Hey! You had fun at that dance!" Jace argued, glaring at her briefly.
"You can't prove that," Katie muttered with a devious smirk. "and you would still owe me for that trust fall."
"Why?" he inquired, turning to face her and leaning back on the counter.
She raised an eyebrow, "Because I said so."
"That's not a reason!" Jace complained, crossing his arms like a toddler throwing a tantrum.
"Yeah it is. Now let's go, Hollister, the cops are coming." Katie jogged out the back door, leaving Jace to catch up.
"Stopping calling me Hollister." Jace caught up to her, still glaring slightly at her constant verbal harassment this morning.
"Nah. I like it, it bugs you." Katie winked, smiling deviously.
Jace grimaced, "Whatever, Kat."
Katie dead stopped in her tracks, whirling around with a murderous look, "Do not call me Kat! I swear to god I'll strangle you!" Jace held up his hands in surrender, backing up a few feet from her close and very angry stance.
"Gee sorry, didn't know you were the only one who could give nicknames." Jace raised his eyebrows, jaw set and a little pissed that she gave out nicknames but couldn't take one herself.
"It's not nicknames in general," Katie grimaced, "just that one." Not like James used to, Katie thought bitterly of her old nickname.
"Ok fine. I'll call you Kay then."
