~SABITO POV~

"I promise to bring you back to life, Sabito." Giyuu declared, his eyes shining with determination. Usually I was the one making the promises and declarations. I was caught off guard. I wasn't used to seeing Yuu this determined. Look how the tables have turned...I let out a chuckle and said "Do as you wish." earning a satisfied nod from Yuu. "Um...Sabito..?" Yuu spoke after a while. "What is it?" I said while giving him an encouraging smile. "I...wanted to apologise for shouting and pushing you...last night..." Yuu said with an emotionless expression but I could tell he was guilty. "It's a natural reaction, Yuu, don't worry about it!" I say with a reassuring smile. Yuu was silent for a while before he spoke again. "I'm really glad you're here, Sabito... I missed you a lot..." Yuu said in a quiet voice, while looking down at the ground. "I know. You don't have to miss me anymore. I'm here now." I said while giving him a soft smile. 

-After that, they'd gotten up, washed all the dishes and are now hanging out in the living room.- 

We sat in silence for a while, when suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Yuu got up to open the door, while I made myself invisible. I wonder who it is...? After a few seconds of waiting, I heard footsteps coming this way. It was Yuu. "Sabito, it's Tanjiro, do you want to reveal yourself to him?" He asked while looking around the room for me. I guess it would be nice to talk to him, again. "Yes." I said while making myself visible again before getting up and following behind Yuu. The moment we entered the room, Nezuko ran to Giyuu, hugging his leg. "I'm sorry to disturb you Tomioka-san, it's just Nezuko really wanted to play with you..." Tanjiro said with a nervous smile. "It's fine, Tanjiro. Actually, there is someone I want you to meet." Yuu said while stepping aside, to reveal me. "Sabito-san?!? How-" Tanjiro started but cut himself off by suddenly bowing down and shouting "It's a pleasure to meet you again, Sabito-san! I'd like to thank you for helping me train at Mr. Urokodaki's place!" "It's no problem. I'm proud of how far you've come." I said while offering him a soft smile and ruffling his hair. Nezuko left Giyuu's leg and ran towards me, latching on to my leg instead. "Hello, Nezuko! How are you?" I ask, while bending down to her level to pat her head. "Mhmmm!" She said while giving me a thumbs up before running back to Yuu. She waved her hands, motioning for Yuu to pick her up, and so he did, throwing her in the air too. "Hehe" She giggled out while clapping her hands. "I'm really sorry for interrupting, Sabito-san, Tomioka-san." Tanjiro apologised once again, and I quickly reassured him. He then walked closer to me and whispered "Tomioka-san smells much happier when he's with you, Sabito-san." I excitedly turned towards Giyuu expecting him to be smiling, but no. He still had his normal emotionless expression on. If he really was happier with me, why didn't he smile? Regardless, I nodded my head and thanked Tanjiro for letting me know.

I spent few more minutes talking to Tanjiro about training, being a ghost, Giyuu, how we met, etc. He seemed abnormally invested in hearing about our childhood...It was suspicious. That's when Nezuko ran to me handing me a flower crown, Yuu following close by. "It's really pretty, Nezuko" I said while giving her a high five. I noticed Giyuu talking to Tanjiro from the corner of my eye. Ehhh, it's probably nothing bad. 

~GIYUU POV~

I knelt beside Tanjiro while watching Sabito and Nezuko interact. "Tanjiro." I said after a while. "Yes, Tomioka-san?" Tanjiro responded while looking at me with curiosity shining in his eyes. Oh god, how do I ask him this? "I assume Sabito already told you about him being a ghost." I said, receiving a nod from him in response. "I'm trying to bring him back to life. Do you know anything that could help me?" I ask, regretting my decision. I've already burdened him so much, I didn't want to ask for more favours but it can't be helped...Tanjiro seemed to think about it for a while before his face lit up. Turning towards me excitedly, he exclaimed "I don't know anything that could help, but I know someone that could help!" I felt hope bubble up in my chest. Even if it was a slight chance, it was better than nothing at all. "I could take you to them later when I don't have a mission! I think I remember the way..." He pondered, while rubbing his chin. "Thank you, Tanjiro...really..." I said, a small smile creeping on my face. I might be able to bring Sabito back to life...and it's all because of Tanjiro. "It's no problem! Tomioka-san!" He said while giving me his sunshine smile.

I can't believe it...After all this time passed with me...wishing for Sabito to come back...My wishes are finally being granted....

-TIMESKIP: THAT NIGHT: SABITO POV~

I was combing through Yuu's hair, making sure to be as gentle as possible. He was still the same as before...He still neglected his beautiful hair, so I of course I took it upon myself to give it the proper care it deserves. "Sabito..?" Yuu called in a slightly tired voice. "Yes, Yuu" I responded fondly. "Tanjiro said he knew someone who could bring you back to life. He'll take us to them when he's free." I stopped combing Yuu's hair. Was it really possible to bring me back to life? Will I really be able to live again? Even after being killed by a demon? Will I be able to become a proper demon slayer? Will I be able to stay by Yuu's side as a human? Will I be able to grow old together with Yuu? Support him, comfort him, listen to him, watch him grow? I felt myself tear up at the thought. Yuu turned towards me and pulled me into a hug. "What's wrong? Do you not want this? I can tell Tanjiro to-" Yuu started but I cut him off by saying "No, no, I'm just really happy. I'll be able to fulfil the promise I made you." I quickly wiped my tears away and hugged Yuu back tightly. "I'm glad...I'm really glad...Thank you, Yuu..." I mumbled into his shoulder. "As long as you're okay-" Yuu paused to yawn "with it" he finished. I let out a chuckle. "Looks like someone is tired!" I say teasingly. "I'm not tired" Yuu retorted, but it was obviously a lie as he let out another yawn right after finishing his words. "C'mon, let's get you to bed!" I said while getting up but I was pulled back down by Yuu. "No, I want to talk to Sabito longer..." He said while looking down at the ground. I softly smiled at him. "How about this? I'll talk to you until you fall asleep, okay?" I suggested. Yuu thought about it for a moment before hesitantly agreeing. 

Once he'd gotten changed, we both lay down on the bed with him clutching my hand. By now, I could tell he was clearly tired but was too stubborn to go to sleep. "Yuu, listen, how about you try sleeping for 5 minutes, and if you don't fall asleep, I'll talk to you." I carefully propose. "But-" Yuu started but I cut him off by saying "Just try." "Fine." He grumbled while reluctantly closing his eyes. 

After just 1 minute, Yuu had fallen asleep. I let out a small chuckle. So much so for not being tired...I gently tuck one of his hair strands behind his ear. That's when I noticed how much more handsome he'd gotten...How did I not notice before?  Yuu had always been pretty, it was a fact I'd known, but now that his features were more mature he looked...stunning. From his long black hair to his pale white skin, from his long eyelashes to his rosy pink lips and his breathtaking ocean eyes, every part of Yuu was stunning . And with the moonlight from Yuu's open window, falling upon him, he looked even more ethereal. The only thing that Yuu was lacking right now was his smile. His bright, sunshine smile that could light up the darkest rooms...He lost his smile, because of me. I will make him smile again. I'll help him be happy again...I promise...
