~SABITO POV: NEXT MORNING~
It was currently 4:45AM and I was laying awake, waiting for Yuu to wake up. I had managed to sleep really well after Yuu comforted me last night. I have always concealed my feelings, because I didn't want to show any weakness, but...yesterday, was oddly refreshing. It felt nice to be able to cry for once and let out all my pent up feelings. Yuu had taught me that. I was also surprised by his humming last night. It was really angelic. It had replayed in my head, ever since I woke up this morning. I want to hear it again, but...I don't know how to ask. Why does Yuu have to be so-xdhjghshh
"Sabito..?" Yuu said while rubbing his eyes. Speak of the devil-no, angel. He slowly got off my chest and gave me a warm hug, before laying back down and clinging onto my arm. "G-Good morning, Yuu! -///-" I greeted while trying to recover from his cute actions. "Morning..." He sleepily greeted back while tracing little imaginary patterns on my shoulder. "C'mon Yuu, we have to get up for training with the old man!" I say, trying to get him up. Technically, we still had about 40 minutes left, but knowing Yuu, it STILL wouldn't be enough. This will take time. "Mhmm..." He replied while still tracing patterns on my shoulder. "C'mon Yuuuuuuu!" I yell, while trying to drag him out of bed, but he still wouldn't budge. "Fine, then I guess I'll just leave you here." I smirked to myself, knowing he'd listen now. Soon enough he rolled out of bed and replied with "Start getting ready, I'll come soon." When I heard the tone of his voice, I felt kind of bad for saying that, but it had to be done. I quickly started getting ready, and sure enough, by the time I was done, Yuu had finished rolling up the futon and folding all the bedsheets. Yuu passed by me to go get ready, still in a sleepy state. Good grief, this guy...
After about 15 minutes, he had finally come out of the washroom with his clothes put on hastily. I quickly walked towards him and started fixing his clothes. That's when I noticed how tangled his hair was...Now that I think about it, I've never seen him comb his hair. Usually he'd just tie it into a ponytail and forget about it...He should take better care of his hair...It's so beautiful..."Hey, Yuu? Can I do your hair?" I asked without thinking. "Huh? M-me? S-sure! Let me get the comb!" He said with excitement evident in his voice, before leaving to get the stuff. "So cute..." I whispered to myself.
Few moments later, Yuu quietly re-enters the room and hands me the comb."Here, sit down." I instruct, after taking the comb from him. I kneel behind him and carefully take off his hair tie, letting his gorgeous black hair loose. "Tell me if it hurts okay?" I say, before picking up the comb and gently running it through his hair. "Yuu, is there a reason behind why you kept your hair long?" I ask, while still combing his hair, with extreme care. It was really tangled. "My sister...she had long hair...I kept it long to remember her..." He said, his voice cracking slightly. "Sabito...I miss her..." Yuu said tears now rolling down his face. I quickly finish tying up his hair before turning my attention towards him. "Giyuu, it's okay to mourn your nee-san, but you should cherish your happy memories with her, instead of crying over them. I said while hugging him from behind. "S-Sabito...could you make my hair...more often." He hesitantly asked and I couldn't help but smile. "I was going to either way. As a man, it is my duty to take care of your precious hair." I said confidently. "Okay?" Yuu said while laughing. "Now hurry up or we'll be late."I said, before standing up and helping Yuu up too.
~DURING TRAINING: GIYUU POV~
"So, today you will be doing something slightly different. You will be sparring with each other. This should help you both hone your skills. You may use everything you've learnt so far. Keep sparring until evening. I'll be back soon." Urokodaki-sensei says before promptly leaving us to spar with each other. "IS THE OLD MAN SERIOUSLY GOING TO LEAVE US JUST LIKE THAT?!? 💢" Sabito screeched, but I wasn't really paying attention. I wanted to win against Sabito. I wanted to prove I was strong too. I didn't want to be dead weight. Final Selection is approaching soon too. I need to improve. From what I've seen, Sabito has really fast reflexes and powerful attacks, but he lacks precision. If I manage to dodge all his attacks and land a very precise hit, I might be able to win. "We should probably start, then..." I say. "Yeah."
-The instant Sabito finishes speaking, Giyuu lunges an attack at him, but it's blocked by Sabito's quick reflexes. Giyuu tries attacking again, but Sabito is faster, and sends an attack towards Giyuu's side, which is just barely dodged by Giyuu. He then goes to strike Sabito's shoulder too, but Sabito blocks the attack, before sending an attack towards Giyuu's waist. Giyuu wasn't able to dodge or block the attack, since it was too fast and it caught him off guard.-
~SABITO POV~
I think I accidentally put too much force in the attack. "Sorry, I think I put too much force. Let me help you." I say while reaching up to help Yuu up. He takes my hand and gets up before saying "One more time, Sabito, please?" That was the thing that caught me off guard. I was surprised by his determination...Usually he'd give up easily...
-They continued sparring for a few more hours before taking a break. GIYUU POV-
I wanted to ask Sabito something...I'm not exactly sure how to bring up the topic. I could just ASK him...I mean that's what I did..."Hey, Sabito..."I said hesitantly. "Hm?" He said while turning his attention towards me. "um...I-..I wanted to know how you ended up here..? Since I told you..y'know?" I asked hesitantly, while making sure I don't look at Sabito. "Oh! Hmm...Let's see...About 4 months ago, after my family died by a demon attack, I was wandering around this mountain and sensei found me and took me under his wing." Sabito said with a sad smile. Sabito's family died too? All this time, I've been crying to Sabito about nee-san but...all this time he's been bearing the same pain as me? But...he's always so happy? "How..How can you still smile, Sabito?" I asked him. "It's because...that's what my parents would have wanted. They would've wanted me to be happy and move on. I want to make my parents proud, because I believe they're watching me from above." Oh..."I'm sorry, Sabito...I'm sorry I'm so immature." I say while looking down at the ground. I couldn't bear to look him in the eye any longer.
We spent the rest of our break admiring the river while making some small talk. Sabito talked about his future plans as a demon slayer, while I intently listened.
-After their break they continued sparring until sunset. SABITO POV-
"One more time...please..." Yuu said while slowly getting up and taking a fighting stance. He looked like he was ready to faint at any moment. What has gotten into this guy..? We've been going at it for hours and each time he keeps asking me to spar again? Today, he's really determined...I wonder why. Either way, I should stop him, or he's going to seriously overwork himself. Even the old man had told us to stop after this round since it was getting late. "Yuu, the old man said we should stop after this round, remember?" I say gently. I was happy he was pushing himself harder, of course, but I wanted to know why? "Mhm" He said before walking towards the river slightly. "Yuu-" I started but he cut me off by saying "The sunset's pretty isn't it?" while facing away from me. Is he trying to change the topic..? "Yea..." I wearily agree. "Sabito." Yuu says in a serious tone. "Yes?" I say, slightly startled. "I may have lost today, but I'll win tomorrow." He says, this time turning around to face me with a small smile on his face. Does he want to beat me that bad? "Sure." I say offering him a smile of my own."
We walked the rest of the way towards the old man's cabin since Yuu was clearly tired. He had insisted we race, but I refused, seeing the state he was in. Good grief, he needs to take better care of himself! 💢
