~SABITO POV~
"Hey, Yuu?" I asked, once Yuu had taken a seat beside me. "Yes?" He replied while leaning his head on my shoulder. I smiled. It's been a few weeks since the last incident and Yuu has gotten much better. He has started smiling more. He's even gotten clingier, which is perfectly fine by me. To be honest, I had really missed his clinginess, it was really cute. "Are the other Hashira rude to you?" I ask in a serious tone. I felt Yuu stiffen slightly before he let out a sigh. "No, they're nice sometimes." He replied eventually. I frowned. That didn't seem like the case..."Then why do they say you're arrogant? It's great if you've gained some confidence, but I know for a fact you can't be arrogant." I questioned. "Well, it's mostly my fault. Whenever they try to talk to me, I ignore them." Yuu muttered. I guess they aren't exactly wrong, either...If someone constantly ignored me I'd think of them badly too. But they judged Yuu too fast! They shouldn't have made assumptions. They should've tried to get to know Yuu better. Have they not seen how kind he is to Tanjiro and Nezuko? "Is there a reason why you distance yourself from them?" I asked carefully. I have a good idea why he distances himself, but I want to hear it from him. "It's because I don't think I'm worthy of standing beside them..." He whispered after a while. I knew it..."Yuu-" I started but was cut off by Yuu. "Sabito, I didn't slay a single demon in Final Selection. Can you really even say I passed Final Selection?" Yuu exclaimed. "Even so, you worked your way up to Hashira Rank. That's amazing. You deserve to be a Hashira, just as much as anyone else." I said with a small smile. Yuu still looked uncertain. And people really think Yuu is arrogant. "You should socialise more with people or you'll be hated." I said jokingly. "I'm not hated by people." Yuu said while pouting. "Sure." I said while ruffling his hair. "Hey! Sabito stop that!" He exclaimed, trying to pull my hand away. I let out a chuckle before ruffling his hair even more.
After that we sat in a comfortable silence before it was broken by Yuu. "Sabito, you said you'd met another girl at Urokodaki-sensei's place?" "Yes, her name was Makomo, she used to be the old man's student. She was also killed by the hand demon in Final Selection." I replied, taken aback by his sudden question. "Oh...Then...What's she like?" Yuu asked hesitantly. "Well...She's really polite and respectful towards others, but never lets anyone insult her. She's very kind towards people she likes and is willing to help anyone. She's pretty strong too...I had some difficulty winning against her whenever we sparred. She respects the old man a lot, like you do...." I paused looking at Yuu for any sort of reaction. None. He just sat there, listening intently, with an emotionless expression on his face. "She sounds nice...Do you like her?" EHHH?!? WHAT WAS WITH THAT QUESTION? SO SUDDENLY TOO? "You can tell me, I'm your best friend." Yuu coaxed. I LIKE YOU, NOT MAKOMO! "Ah well no...She's not really my type I guess..." I say while rubbing my neck nervously. "Oh...What's your type then?" Yuu asked while looking at me curiously. AHHH WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO SAY? "Ah...they should have black hair and blue eyes. They should be strong, smart, kind, gentle, hardworking, not afraid to cry..." I finish, hoping Yuu wouldn't take my hint. I didn't want to ruin our friendship. "Ah...I'm sure you'll find someone you love..." Yuu said while closing his eyes. Maybe it's just me, but he seemed a little disappointed. I may be imagining it. "Well-" Yuu started but was cut off by the door being slammed open to reveal Tanjiro, holding a letter in his hand. "Sorry to bother you, Tomioka-san, Sabito-san, but I got a letter from Tamayo-san!" Tanjiro said, slightly out of breath. "What does it say?" Yuu said while standing up and pulling me up with him. "Tamayo-san said she may have found a way to bring Sabito back to life. She wants you to visit so she can explain everything better." Tanjiro exclaimed. "R-Really? Can I see?" Yuu says in shock. Tanjiro hands the letter to Giyuu with a wide smile, excitement shining in his eyes. I peer over Giyuu's shoulder, to read the letter.
Dear Tomioka-san,
I wanted to inform you that I have found a way to bring Sabito-san back to life, although it's not as easy as it seems. There will be lots of complications so please come visit me as soon as possible so I can explain the risks to you.
-Tamayo.
Thank you, Tanjiro, Giyuu, Tamayo-san...Thanks to you all, I have a chance to live again.
~MEANWHILE WITH THE HASHIRA~
"Oi, you guys. Tomioka has been acting weird these days." Shinazugawa said to the surprise of all the other Hashira. "Ara Ara~ Shinazugawa-san are you actually concerned for Tomioka-san? I thought you hated him." Shinobu teased Shinazugawa with her usual smile. Of course she knew Shinazugawa didn't actually hate him, but she would never give up any opportunity to tease someone. 'Ah, Shinobu-chan is smiling again! She's so amazing!' A certain pink and green haired girl admired. "GOOD OBSERVATION, SHINAZUGAWA! NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, TOMIOKA HAS BEEN ACTING STRANGE!" Rengoku agreed loudly. "I agree with Rengoku!" Said Tengen while doing his flashy pose. "Tch. Of course you do." Shinazugawa said, annoyed with both of them. "I agree, Tomioka has been skipping more meetings than usual." Gyomei said with tears streaming down his face. "Um..I saw Tomioka-san the other day, he seemed to be in a relatively good mood. I tried calling him over to talk to, but he didn't notice me..." Mitsuri added, happy to make a contribution to the conversation. 'How dare that bastard ignore Mitsuri!💢 I'll kill him the next time I see him!💢' thought the serpent pillar. "I have an idea! We should follow Tomioka-san!" Shinobu suggested in a cheery voice. "Shinobu-chan, isn't that an invasion of privacy?" Mitsuri said worriedly. "It should be fine, Mitsuri. If we ask Tomioka-san, he will just ignore us so it's better to take matters into our own hands! We will learn more about Tomioka-san too." Shinobu tried convincing Mitsuri. "There is no way, I'm going-" Iguro started but cut himself off when Mitsuri said "In that case...I guess I'll come...It will be fun, don't you think, Iguro-san?" "I'll come." Iguro immediately changed his mind, only to receive a smug look from Shinobu. "Sounds flashy, I'm in." Tengen said. "IF MY BEST BUDDY IS GOING, SO AM I!!!" Rengoku exclaimed. "I'll come too, I gues..." Shinazugawa agreed reluctantly. "Great, is anyone apposed to the plan?" Shinobu asked sweetly. "I will not be participating in this and I strongly advice you to not as well." Gyomei said. "Me too. And you wonder why that guy doesn't talk to you all." Muichiro said while giving the other Hashiras a disgusted look. "Ara Ara, Tokito-kun no need to be so rude. You're the youngest here after all!~" Shinobu said, trying her best to contain her anger. Muichiro opened his mouth to say something but stopped when Gyomei spoke up instead. "Despite being the youngest, Tokito-kun is the most righteous out of you all." Gyomei stated before promptly leaving with Muichiro.
"Shinobu-chan, I think Himejima-san and Tokito-kun were right. Maybe we could try talking to Tomioka-san before doing anything?" Mitsuri nervously suggested. "Huh...maybe they are right... Guys, the next time we see Tomioka-san let's try talking to him kindly." Shinobu said, while emphasising the last part to Shinazugawa and Iguro. All the Hashiras agreed to the plan. Gyomei was proud they chose the right decision. Muichiro was busy looking at the clouds.
A/N: How did I make Shinobu? Did I make her too OOC? I didn't want to make her a mean bitch like some people do, so I really tried to keep her personality accurate. Also, do you think Tamayo will actually be able to bring Sabito back to life 🤭?
