Silverpaw pads through the woods with Brindlespark, Timbernose, and Squirrelpaw, peripherally aware of her brother watching her through narrowed eyes but not bothering to humor his attempts at provoking her.

The four were headed back toward camp after marking around the ThunderClan border; it had been a tense, quiet affair, in spite of the older warriors' attempts to lighten the mood.

Squirrelpaw had carried on ignoring his sister, throwing a disdainful glance in her direction every now and then, and Silverpaw had kept a cool head and said nothing.

She had used the time to think about what her end goal in life would be- what legacy she'd leave.

With that had come a great deal of existential dread, but she supposed it was part of being normal like everyone else.

Something about the idea of leading a Clan called to her; it would never happen given the current circumstances, surely, but it was a nice idea.

Silverpaw remembered that during their time spent together Slightstar promised that she'd be his successor, but the chances of that were virtually nonexistent.

In light of recent developments, she was wavering in the middle between wanting nothing to do with her father and giving him another chance if she could.

Even if she chose to pretend he didn't exist like Squirrelpaw, the looks she received from Hailwatcher and her mother would be more than enough to bring her little fantasy world crashing down.

Silverpaw flattens her ears as Brindlespark glances back with a cheerful glint in his eyes; he was the only one undeterred by the sibling's silent feuding.

"So, are you two excited for your first Gathering?" the brindled tom mews.

"That's coming up soon."

"I guess so," Squirrelpaw mumbles, glancing away through narrowed blue eyes.

"Not particularly," Silverpaw replies, keeping her green eyes trained on Brindlespark.

The brindled tom frowns.

"Why not?"

Silverpaw twitches her tail.

"On my part, I feel as if it's fairly obvious."

Squirrelpaw neglects to respond, remaining sullen and silent.

Timbernose shakes his head, giving Brindlespark a look.

"Squirrelpaw," the brown tabby warrior mews.

Silverpaw's brother glances up, curly ginger fur prickling in slight alarm.

"Hm?"

"I've heard that you've been spending a lot of time with my daughter," Timbernose replies; though his tone is stern, a glint of mischief dances in his green gaze.

Silverpaw, taking this to mean that Timbernose is going to have an intimidating talk with Squirrelpaw, pads up next to Brindlespark and attempts to look back at her brother without seeming too obvious.

Squirrelpaw bristles up, eyes widening in embarrassment.

"Erm- well..."

Timbernose, still giving the ginger apprentice a bit of a death glare, softens.

"Be good to Tinypaw, you hear?"

Squirrelpaw nods vigorously, a bit of warmth returning to his frazzled expression.

"I- I will..."

Silverpaw rolls her eyes, pushing forward with a twitch of her ear.

If her brother wanted to be a lovebird, then he could go right ahead, but for her romance seemed a waste of time.
