As the door closed behind me, the warehouse's moonlight dimmed, and only the windows from above possessed such brightness now. The structure of this building was separated into at least two sections at first glance, because the width of the room I was in was way smaller than what it looked like from the outside. There were few guards in this section though...

Then that familiar voice pulled me back to sense, "So, you did come back Chika, we were all thinking of you betraying us." The white-haired boy said.

"Of course I came back, the agency had nothing to attract me," I replied. Surprisingly enough, after all the time I've been with Oni, I still didn't know his real name. Actually, I don't know any of the executives' real names, all unknown.

Oni then sighed in disappointment, "oh really, then why did you hesitate so long on killing that Dazai? Or did you not kill him at all, and return empty-handed?" He questioned, and then reminded, "Remember Chika, think about your words before you say them, your lies are so conspicuous."

I sighed in resignment, then apologised, "Sorry, I'll do a better job next time, but he is dead." And added, "The news in the morning will say it all."

"Well, you shouldn't really be apologising to me, you should be apologising to Shin instead. He's been fired up with you this whole week. Not even Bakemono and Yokai had been able to calm him down."

After hearing that, my heart skipped a beat. Butterflies started to form in my stomach, I really wondered what my punishments were going to be. This felt like a serious crime that would cause another chaos of suffering. All I would do is follow Oni, to whatever place he was taking me.

Then we arrived at the next door, leading to the second section. I interrogated, "Are we gonna meet Shin now?"

"Don't think that everyone doesn't sleep Chika, but it's not as if he even wants to see your face right now," Oni responded and opened the door. The atmosphere once again falls into awkwardness.

The second section was much more residential, there were two floors. The first floor had a tattered couch with a wooden table, documents scattered on top, and other essential furniture. The second floor had separate rooms, nothing was visible from outside. At the very back of the section, there was another door, and I'm pretty sure that's where Shin is. However, Oni did not go further, so I did not either.

Then the sentimental boy led me up the stairs, until we arrived at the door of one room. He opened it and flicked on the lights. The structure was simple, a single bed, a desk with a lamp, and a chair.

"Put up with it for now, it's not as good as our last base, but we're moving tomorrow anyways," Oni explained, and then sighed, "this moving around lately has made me go crazy these days. Anyways, rest for now Chika, I'm sure Shin will have a lot of questioning for you tomorrow." After saying so, he left.

"Goodnight Oni," I replied, but I'm not even sure whether he heard it or not. Even though I addressed him as a boy, he's still older than me by three years, and I'm suremuch more skilled and knowledgeable. He has terribly good deduction skills and is capable of making sophisticated intellectual plans. Albeit his social skills are just as bad as his attempts in comforting children. In some ways you look at it, Oni's just like Shin, but not as melancholy, and definitely not as bad at cooking, including keeping the resident clean. That nostalgic feeling just never left him.

I lay in the bed and curled in the blanket. I don't know what's going to happen in the morning, and the idea of even thinking about it makes me terrified. Oh, just let me escape from reality, I don't want to face any of this. I want to shrink into the particles of oxygen and be unnoticeable, just like a nobody. But what am I even worrying about? I don't know. Oh yes, I do. It's Dazai. The reason I'm doing this is not even because of the money anymore, wealth was just a mere excuse. I pray for the safety of that man. If I were to say that Shin was the saviour of my childhood, then Dazai is the god and redeemer of my life. He showed me light, and I'm not going to let sacrifice without accomplishments.

When Oni left for downstairs, he did hear Chika, but made no response. He doesn't want to make further conversations, not because he despised her, but because there was fundamentally nothing to say. The boy easily noticed that there were more between Dazai and Chika, but made no judgements. Oni knew that the man was definitely not dead, and Chika even seemed glad at the fact. Still, he won't tell the boss about it, because who doesn't want their sister to be contented?

Oh yes, Chika was Oni's little sister. Even though they're only half-siblings, the bond does not wane. Oni was Haruno's (Chika's biological father) adulterine child. When Haruno first found out about Oni's mother's pregnancy, he left her immediately after naming their boy 'Rei Haruno', since neither of them were ever even official. It was just a stressful night at the club. Then Oni's mother died a few years later too, and he was taken in by Shin Akira, eventually turning into the boss' right-handed man.

When Oni first met Chika, he thought that they just coincidentally had the same last name, but then discovered that they had the same blood. Oni was surprised at first, but then accepted it since it was just casualty, because his father was already married long ago at the time of the baby's arrival. This secret is only known by Shin and himself, Chika is set to have no idea of it until the right time comes. But will that time ever come?

(I feel like I need to make Chika and Dazai have more scenes...)
