"The less i know, the less i can tell the police."
I finally arrived at work. My boss didn't mind it since i was always on time. As fast as possible i changed into my working outfit and walked up to the bar.
11:00 p.m
No one here is known to me. This opening shift looks like a retirement center. So many elderly are working in here. I'm wondering if someone will come in. I personally wouldn't go eat out during daytime. Maybe a few buisness guys will walk up but thats it. I rolled my eyes.
The next hours flew by and nothing special happend.
Just as i expected it.3:30 p.m
My eyes hurt. I'm tired and my mood changed into annoyence. In half an hour the late night shift will enter. Finally someone i know. I decided to check my bottles on the floor. In case something is missing.
"You live in here?"
i heard a person. This voice was kinda menancing. Didn't i heard it before? I looked up. This huge intimidating delinquent from yesterday night was howering over me. He maybe bowed a bit but his upper bodypart was fully over the bar counter. His grin was wide and kinda looked like a psycho. My body just stopped doing anything. I just looked in his eyes.
"Did you lost your voice? Where is this brave woman now?"
his words sounded like a threat. I thought he was just doing a smalltalk, but how does his threats look like when THIS is normal? I took a deep breath. "No. I don't live here." i finally answer. He chuckles. "You look like a dead fish. Didn't get enough sleep brave woman?" he asked. Was he really doing smalltalk?! My blank expression was updated to blank with raised eyebrow. "My dead fish look is normal. I was born with it. Meeting with our owner again?" i asked him. He laughed a bit and crossed his arms. "Nah, i'm working. Like you. But i wanna beer." he said.
So that's why he is here.
Should it guessed it."In a minute. My legs fell asleep." i told him the truth. He laughed and reached out for my shoulder. With just one hand and ease, he pulled me up. I grasped my counter and tried not to fall over. "Not a minute. Now." he said in a threatning tone. I nodded and gave him the bottle. He didn't mind no glas and walked outside.
As my legs finally worked normal again my boss came up to me. "You look tired! I'm sorry for having you do a double shift. But no one is acutally... qualified enough for this high end restaurant." he began and took a deep breath. I know what he was about to say. "So i need to make seven weeks double shifts!? Are you insane? I know i look like a dead fish but i won't survive this!" i said it with an angry tone. My boss looked at me with a surprised expression. "D-Dead fish?" he asked. I rolled my eyes. "Was called by that today." i mumbled. He put his one hand on my shoulder. "Let me tell you, you're not a dead fishy. You maybe seem a bit uninterested, blank, not in a good mood... but you're just professional. And thats what i like about you the most." he said with a wide smile.
What he likes most?
His words are swirrling around my head. Even after hours passed by. I was so deep in my thoughts... i didn't saw someone walking up to me. "Oi. Earth on brave woman." someone said. i looked up. He was back.
"A beer?" i asked him. He shook his head. "No... this time i wanna... whiskey." he said bored. "You sound like nothing happens outside. Bored?" i asked him. He nodds. "Yeah.. kinda depressing that they're not showing up. When did they come?" he asked. I tilted my head. That was a good question. "To be honest, i never saw them. Maybe they show up after closing..." i said without any emotion. He humms and just watched me pouring his whiskey. After that he stood at my bar, watching me clean everything.
How is this supposed to be an high end restaurant if HE'S standing at my bar!
He didn't say or did something at all. How creppy is he?! "It's more boring here. Shouldn't you be outside?" i finally dared to ask. He chuckles. "Nah, it's more boring outside. Here i can talk and drink." he said and put his empty glas infront of me. I made a free refill. His grin is back.
CREEP
He went to the toilette and i put his full glas off the counter. I'll give it to him, when he's back. I looked to the entrance and saw three Yakuza walking in. Oh no... they made eye contact and smile at me.
Yakuza A: "Look at this~ a beauty working here? Where is your boss?"
Yakuza B: "Maybe she is the boss?"
Yakuza A: "Idiot. No boss would work."
Yakuza B: "Don't be like that! Look how blank her expression is."
Yakuza C: "Do we know her? She seems a bit... known to me."Fuck...
FUUUCK....
FUUUUUUUUUCK!"Sorry to break it to you. But the boss won't be here tonight. Good luck next time. I need you to leave. Our guests are high standard." i said. They looked at each other and laughed. Why? Did i say something funny?!
"No cutie, who's in charge now?" Yakuza A asked and howered over me. He was like.. 10cm taller than me. Howering doesn't work like that. "I'm just a small bartender without any information about that. Just leave." i tried to made them leaving us. BUT NOOO. "I don't think so. Give us few drinks and a strip tease and than... we're maybe leaving." Yakuza C said. Yakuza B is laughing like a teapot. Is he okay? I rolled my eyes.
"And i thought it'll be boring today! Look how lucky i am~ let's go outside and have a small chat!"
This intimidating and theatening voice gives me a cold shiver running down on my back. Goosebumps all over my body. I looked at this huge tank. A vein popped his cheeck. His menancing aura is taking my breath. Those Yakuza looks like they saw a ghost. A pale and terrified expression to be seen. And i thought Yakuza are more chill when a simple delinquent comes up to them. How wrong i was. Otherwise... i got a feeling he isn't a normal delinquent.
He's definitly a guy i never wanna meet in a dark alley!
He left with those Yakuza. Outside i heard punches and things broke. A few screams includet. I guess he was stronger than them. I chuckled a bit.
"I'm back. Where is my whiskey?" he asked. I saw his hands covered in blood. "Wanna wash them? I personally wouldn't like blood on our inventory." i tried to convice him. He nodded and came behind my counter. He washed his hands at my sink.
THATS MY SINK!
MY PRECIOUS SINK!!I gave him his drink. He sat down in my backoffice. The only chair in there was used by Koji. I never dared to sit down. My glaze goes up to the watch.
8:59 p.m.
My Boss came up to me. He didn't saw this delinquent sitting there. "Where is South?" he asked. "Who?" i asked. My boss rubbed his temples. "This huge mass of a man. Who just wrecked those Yakuza." he said. I nodded. "Didn't know his name. He is drinking a whiskey, why you ask? Want to see him?" i asked. This Man, called South, looked to me. He questions himself why my boss want to talk to him. "Nah, just wanna make sure he is still here. Mr. O'Niel pays a huge amount to them! So he better he here." my boss said.
We heard a laugh in my backoffice.
South came out. My Face could acutally meet his abs. So. Tall. I looked up. My boss looked inbetween us. "O-Oh... okay. You can leave now. We will close now. South, thank you for your help." my boss told me.
Fast a flash i ran into our lockerrooms.
changed in a minute. Finally leaving this uncomfortable place.
"Hey! What's your name?!"
I heard South voice trough this alley. But i pretend not to hear that.
He shouldn't know my name!
