After placing defense wards around the entire perimeter of our home, A'Ying and I felt safer. We spent the last month just getting comfortable and settling in. We were loving our new home. We even have a garden growing and a space for medical herbs. Every evening A'Ying and I would spend some time just relaxing outside in the backyard in our warm spring. With our house safely protected, we felt more relaxed. We know we still have to find Jin Guangyao, but we have yet to meet up at Qinghe for the conference meeting with the other sects. It will be the first time A'Ying and I will be out in public and openly showing we are married and alive.

At the moment, A'Ying and I are in the warm spring. A'Ying was sitting near the edge of the spring and had a book sitting on a rock that he was reading. I turned and looked to see what he was reading.

"Defensive, protection, specialty charms," I said.

"Mnn, Baoshan gave it to me. I saw it when we were visiting last and asked if I could borrow it. She said it was okay. I already found a charm that I think I might try," he said.

"What charm?" I asked.

"I am actually needing to talk to you about it, as you might have a better idea of how I can apply it," A'Ying said and showed me the charm, "it says with it, I can use it to summon a certain creature and use it to gather information."

"This charm would be required to be etched into the skin," I said and sighed, "talk to Baoshan. She might have a better solution. Why this charm?"

"It's basically having our own dire owl like the Wen Sect used to have. I will chose a different animal but with it, we can gain more information," A'Ying explained.

"And what kind of animal would you think to use?" I asked.

"Well, something that can fly but maybe something small so it's not as noticeable," he said, "I can make a couple different ones. I thought one of them could be a bee, and another one could be a small bird."

I chuckled, "why a bee?"

"Because, have you seen how cute bumblebees are, they are fairly harmless and one would not expect a bee to be spying on them," he said, "as for a bird, maybe a raven or crow."

"Baoshan would have an idea on how to safely apply it to your skin," I said.

"You two talking about me again?" Baoshan asked as she came out back.

"Wai Po, you just have good timing," A'Ying said. A'Ying and I got out of the spring and put one fresh robes, "what do you think?" A'Ying showed her the charm.

"It's smart, but you can already summon and make corpses, why use animals?" She asked.

"No one will expect an animal being able to pick up information and it being relayed back to me," he answered, "why?"

"Well, you can already manipulate nature and animals as they are basic abilities most immortals have," Baoshan said, "you don't need to make a charm when you can already just use animals."

"I liked the idea with the bees," A'Ying said with a pout.

Baoshan sighed and showed A'Ying how to apply charms to the skin without cutting or etching it into his skin. All that is needed is to write out the charm using spiritual energy and apply to the body. It was simple and painless. I decided to use that same charm and used it to have rabbits being my spying type of animal.

"Really?" A'Ying asked.

"You have a problem with my choice of animal?" I asked.

"No, but how would a bunny help blend in?" A'Ying asked.
