chapter 13 | ferris wheel

Anastasia

I impatiently paced back and forced and waited till Alex was soon to be bailed. It was taking so long.

I heaved in a sigh and put my hands behind my back, staring that the ceiling.

Mrs. Adams told me to be patient and I nodded knowingly, but how could I? It was taking centuries to bail my best friend out.

I heard footsteps coming towards our way and I reluctantly turned to face the noise.

My eyes grew wide as my gaze was met to Alex's.

A smile played across my lips as I ran into Alex's arms. He hugged back, tightening his grip on my waist.

"Oh my god. You scared me half to death! What happened?" I pulled away and stared into his eyes.

He chuckled before replying, "I dont think its a story you want to hear." he looked uneasy.

I cocked my head sideways and shrugged it off. He's going to tell me sometime either way.

"Hey mom." he says, pulling her into a small hug.

She groaned and looked into his sons eyes.

"Glad you're okay sweety." she smiles.

We were a bunch of weirdos. I know. Dont judge us.

"Yeah sure." I smile back.

"Cool. Pick you up at five." he shows me with his fingers.

I nodded and took a seat after entering class.

The bell rang and the teacher began her lecture after passing out the assignment.

I rolled my eyes out of boredom and found everyone either playing on their phones, or sleeping. But I wasn't surprised.

I felt a slight tap on my shoulder and nonchalantly turned around.

It was Jake. An average sized blonde with tall build and mesmerizing green eyes.

"Whats up?" I nibbled the inside of my cheek.

"Hey. Do you get this?" he motioned over the paper.

I nodded slowly.

"Do you mind if I swing by your house after school today? I'm totally clueless." he chuckles.

I laughed in response. "Sure."

I turned to the front and set my chin on my palms. Suddenly, the ceiling seemed intriguing.

My eyes wandered over the the window, watching birds soar throughout the cloudy sky.

I wished I could see the world like they can. Speaking of birds, I like dinosaurs. Especially the one with a really lone ne-

I was snapped out from and trance as the bell rang and the students swarmed out the door.

"Anastasia, hold up!" Jake called after me, running to my side. "Boy, you sure do walk fast!" he jokes, panting.
