Not a word was said between Y/n and Arvin when they were driving. Y/n had managed to wipe the blood from off her face, but the expression that was also there, was not coming off.
The look of her Daddy, lying on the floor with a bullet in his head... was something that she will not stop thinking about. It has been burned into her mind, heart and soul.
Arvin was worried at her quietness, she would normally be fidgeting and unable to stop talking about what has just happened.
But she was silent.
Until she spoke up.
"Are we bad people?"
Her voice was horse but calm.
"Well... in some people's eyes, yes. But in the eyes of all the women that he's hurt... and if..." Arvin's voice cracked with emotion "...if Lenora were here... they'd all say no."
"I don't think Lenora would want him dead... I think she'd say somethin' like 'The Lord will be damning him to hell', so somethin' like that."
They both shared a chuckle.
"She was always the one to have mercy... and never wish any pain on other people... no matter what they did." Arvin said.
Both fell into a sad silence...
"I miss her so much..." Arvin tried to stop the emotion slip through his words. But it came out anyway. Y/n put her hand on his,
"Me too... she was one that was taken too early." She said, and he nodded "Everythin' is gonna be okay."
Both looked at each other and smiled sadly,
"I love you." He said.
"I love you too." She said "Now eyes on the road."
He smiled, he wasn't worried about her anymore. That was until the moment she stepped out of the car. Then he would be on high alert, like always. He would never let her out of his sight.
"Where are we goin'?" Y/n asked.
"...I need to make a few more things right."
Just before Y/n was going to question what he meant, the car started to splutter and jerk in an odd fashion. Arvin pulled over, and it eventually came to a stop after a few moments. He tried to start it up again,
"Come on..." He huffed, but the car was out of gas. "Fuck."
"We'll have to make it on foot." Y/n said.
"It's too dark. We'll do it in the mornin'."

Carl and Sandy were driving down the road early the next day. Looking for the next person they were gonna pick up...Soon, they spotted Arvin, holding his thumb out to the cars to see if he could get a lift.
"Carl?" She asked her husband, knowing that he would want to pick him up. But he didn't reply, his eyes stuck to him. "Carl?"
"We don't even know where he's goin'." Carl replied. "Just-"
"God damnit Carl." Sandy hissed "He's goin' to Ohio. No one from home. That's your rule." Carl beeped the horn at Arvin. He looked to the car, and he ran over to the window to see who was in it,
"Mornin'" Arvin greeted.
"Where you headed?" Carl asked.
"Meade, Ohio. You heard of it?"
"The paper-mill town, right?"
"Yeah, that's right."
"We're passing right through it." He smiled.
