My Arrogant Senior

Dinner with HIM

"Welcome sir. We were waiting for you, haven't started much." 

"Yes sir. "

Both Daniel sir and Chris sir welcomed Ian sir.

Why hadn't I thought about this that Ian sir is also going to be in dinner. It was obvious he is team's head and it's a team dinner.

 The last time me and Ian sir talked was that punishment thing after that we didn't spoke. We see each other everyday ,or I see him, in wards but I am still afraid of him.

He makes me.... nervous. He carries that cold aura although he speaks two to three sentences to us but its enough to make us anxious.

Everyone around me started getting up from their chair to greet him. All of them happily shaked hand and welcomed him.

Is it only me who fears him. I was still sitting on my desk deciding weather to   move and greet him or not.

As minutes passed by he was still standing.Behind me.

  Why is he not sitting down?

As I turned around to look my head brushed against fabric. He was just behind me. I startedly backed myself up with this sudden realisation and slowly raised my head to look at him. 

My breath got hitched in my throat as he was already looking at me. I get little flustered by his stare.He looked surprised seeing me here like he was not expecting me here but he covered it by his annoyed look.

"Miss Benett. Are you always this thoughtless or is this some new habit."

"Huh."

"Your Bag."

"My bag..." I totally forget I had  kept my bag on his chair. I quickly picked my bag from his chair and mumbled a sorry.

He sighed and planting his feet firmly on the floor sat beside me taking up his space with head straight like a boss. I also straightened up placing both my hands on my lap sat with bowed head.

The dinner went by everyone Murmuring to each other except Chris sir and Daniel sir. They were the only ones who were talking loudly, sharing stories about cases and chatting with Ian sir, who was only replying them with one or two syllables.

During the whole dinner I sat quietly on my chair, unmoving, listening to the stories and talks. I only moved to eat and spoke or when somebody asks me anything otherwise I sat their like a statue.

"Let's make this dinner more interesting. What say?" Daniel sir said.

"Yeah. I am feeling bored. No one is speaking anything. It's killing the mood." Chris sir said.

"Let's play ask me anything. By this you all will be out of your shells and We will get to know more about each other and will bond as a team more. What say guys. Ready for some gossips."

Everyone cheers excitedly and agrees to play the game. 

And the game starts. Everyone starts asking questions to each other one by one. Initially everyone was asking about why they choose to become doctor? What was their toughest case? How many time they were earred off by seniors? But with a single question the whole table turned.

"So Daniel sir, do you have a girlfriend?" Anna Ma'am asked. Everyone went silent.

"Quite interested in my love life." He smirked. Whole table howled.

"That's not an answer sir."

Raising his eyebrow teasingly he replied. "No junior,I don't have any girlfriend."

"Now my turn. Do you have a boyfriend?" Daniel sir asked. 

"No I don't." Anna ma'am replied looking straight into his eyes.

The whole table went crazy and started hooting.

"You both can do this later on,now it's my turn, Ask me." Chris sir yelled breaking their eye contact.

"We all know you don't have a girlfriend so cool down your horses but yes is their anyone you like."

"Hmmm, yes." He thoughtfully replied.

"Woahh. Hang on! Who is the lucky girl who haven't fall for your charms but you did. Is she from our hospital."

"Maybe! Maybe not." He replied and everyone went mad. They started asking who is she? Which year? Which department?

But Chris sir just smiled. "My turn over. Now no more question. It's time for me to ask questions."

And with this the game went on.With each question we get a new gossip or a personal information like their first kiss, first love, boyfriend etc. I also started enjoying and laughing listening to everyone's stories forgetting about all the nervousness. I jumped, howled, laughed not caring that Ian sir is just beside me.

"Okay guys enough about us. Let's ask something to juniors also. Why to exclude them." Anna ma'am suddenly turned towards us.Everyone also started looking at me and Ryan.

With the sudden change and all the attention and stares ate me I started feeling nervous again. All the joy, laugh and smile flys away. I timidly picked my glass to drink water.

"Hmmm... let's start with... Amelia.."

Great. What a luck.

"Ask her something easy. She is already looking paled." Chris sir said.

"Don't worry sir. So Amelia....an easy question...let me think...okay! Rate Ian sir."

I choked on my drink. What the hell. The glass from my hand slipped and fell on the floor spilling water to whole carpet and breaking into several pieces. Whole table went silent.

In embarrassment I abruptly stood from my chair and bend on my knees to pick the shards of glass.

As I was going to pick the glass Ian sir stopped me.

"Leave it miss Benett. Staff will handle."

"No..no I'll... I'll do this." At this point my nervousness reaches to its highest point. I don't know what I was doing. My mind went blank. I could feel everyone's eyes one me.

Ian sir stood up from his chair.

"Leave it Miss Benett."

But I was too far to listen to him. My heartbeat was pounding in my ears. Everyone's whispers was feeling like a judgment. I was just wishing for the the ground to swallow me.

This whole imaginative world broke when Ian sir pulled me to my feet holding my wrist. Staring right in my eyes he said "Leave it."

I freeze into his eyes .I forget about my surrounding. It felt like world had stopped.His staring intensity was making me placid. My veins which were erupting from high heartbeat earlier was getting normal under his touch.

"Go dry yourself up."
