The night wore on, the party continued to be a whirlwind of laughter and good times. We danced, played games, and simply enjoyed each other's company. The memories we were creating were sure to be cherished for years to come.
But as the minutes passed, I started to feel a bit lightheaded from the drinks I had consumed. I leaned my head back on the chair Tara was there with Mindy, Chad, and Ethan playing beer pong. You were trying to stop her from drinking too much since she's been drinking earlier but she's not listening to you nor to Sam too.
Sam chuckled as she observed you closely. "You seem a bit shaken. Is it because Tara wasn't giving you much attention? Also, what happened earlier with your ex?" she inquired. You downed the entire bottle of beer before responding, "Sandra apologized for her past actions and asked if there was a chance for her to prove her love to me again she might piss Tara off."
Glancing at Sam, you saw her scrunching her face in response. "That's why Tara stepped in; she felt Sandra was getting too close to you," Sam explained. You laughed and replied, "Well, I have to thank Tara for that because I wasn't comfortable with what Sandra was saying. I was just being friendly, but it seemed she had other intentions."
"Maybe Sandra needs closure, you know..." she said, patting your thighs "Sam she cheated on me, she clearly saw the things that she didn't see in me that's why she cheated and left me," I explained. "And I don't think I have anything left to clarify with her. It's evident that we're no longer together for so long, and I'm in a happy, healthy relationship with Tara. I don't want to give her false hope." I added.
Cracking open another beer, Sam observed, "You've had quite a few now." She noticed your increasing consumption. Suddenly, the triumphant yell of victory caught both of your attention, and you turned to see Tara and Mindy raising their hands in the air with smiles on their faces.
"Looks like they won the beer pong game," you remarked, gesturing towards Tara and Mindy's triumphant moment. As Sam glanced at them, you took the opportunity to quickly finish all the beer in your bottle. Sam observed your action and shook her head disapprovingly.
I just laughed at her "Don't worry I'm not that drunk yet, I can still go for more beers Sam." She nodded "Well, if you say so Y/n I'm not carrying your ass back to the house." I just lifted my thumbs to her.
As the party continued you found yourself in the circle just to witness them play truth, dare, or drink game with the squad, Kirby who's trying to be a social butterfly invited to play Sandra and her friends.
Seated in a circle, you wrapped your arm around Tara, who remained visibly distant with her arms crossed, not giving you the attention you desired. Sighing in concern, you scanned the group, realizing that Sam was not in the circle either.
Worried, you checked each squad member and mentally counted them, only to notice that both Sam and Ethan were missing. Reacting swiftly, you abruptly stood up from your chair, grabbing everyone's attention. Kirby asked, "Hey, Y/n, are you okay?" You shook your head in response and asked, "Have any of you seen Sam and Ethan?" Kirby simply shook her head, indicating that she hadn't seen them either.
With a growing sense of unease, you knew you had to find them and make sure they were safe. Your protective instincts kicked in, and you determinedly set out to locate your missing friends.
