(Bell POV)
After the dragon finished speaking, it would have seemed to anyone else that everyone's brains had simply stopped working.
The dragon crouched downward, looking like it was about to pounce on its prey.
"DODGE!" I screamed loud enough to hopefully snap most people out of being star-struck, but only a few were able to react and moved out of the way.
The dragon then dashed forwards and slashed its claws to the point where it would completely destroy anything and everything in its way. But there was one saving grace that this army had, and it was Squad 6. My squad.
Everyone from my squad for the most part was unharmed so they rushed in to grab the people who still couldn't move, each grabbing two people, which in total would have saved roughly 2 whole squads
Naturally though, even then there were some they still couldn't get to, and the mountain was stained red.
In just one slash, over 100 soldiers died.
Ais and I immediately charged back in to try and catch it off guard since now its back was facing us. However, much to our surprise its head whipped around, and a blast of fire breath was faced right at us.
"Shit..."
Immediately an elf swooped in and grabbed the both of us. The fire just narrowly missed us.
"Thanks for the save, Lyu," Ais said as she let us down.
"No worries. More than that though...How the hell are we actually going to kill this thing?"
The dragon was not letting up, thankfully everyone was back to normal now and was able to fight. It kept on charging, swiping those massive claws at anything and everything that moved.
The sky above continued to change and change, as now it appeared that it was going to storm. Ais looked up.
"...Wasn't it a blue sky when we arrived?"
"AIS!" I yelled and yanked her arm to dodge the claws that once again just barely missed. Lyu was able to jump out of the way as well.
I decided to step up to fight again, Lyu stepped up next to me stretching her arms.
"Haven't fought as a duo since the juggernaut, right?" I asked with a sly smile
"Yes. And I have no doubt we will kill this one as well."
We both ran in, and I brought out both my daggers. Lyu had her wooden sword, but she was also very well-versed in magic.
The dragon turned around and fired a blast of fire breath right at us. I jumped into the air as Lyu just disappeared.
In the air, I attempted to land on the dragon's head, but he shook his head to the side just before I landed, then smacked me with it sending me flying across the ground.
I smiled as I flipped my body back up, and charged in again. The dragon swiped its claws once again and I slid under them and went under the dragon.
From that, the dragon attempted to lay down quickly, not even all 3 level 9 adventurers would be able to move this thing, much less pick it up.
Right before it landed though, I once again was grabbed by the side.
"Didn't expect you to be the one to save me."
"Shut up. I would have left you under there if I could." Bete glared as he set me down once we got safe enough away.
As soon as the dragon's stomach touched the ground, chains from all around pinned it down. I then saw Lyu appear next to me panting.
