Sundrop & Moondrop x reader (+ NEW RUIN AU)

Ruin AU~ 3.

"Eclipse." He spoke in a soft voice.

"Huh?"

"We are.. Eclipse. Happy birthday.. Y/N."
He looked so sad..

"What do you mean..? It's not my birthday..?" You felt confused. Was he actually talking to you?

A few black teardrops, which you guessed were oil, were dripping down his face plate. The flickering light in his eye turned off and the red light in his other on. He turned a little panicky as he looked at his hands.
"Sun..? Ah.. Turn it off, turn it off! What did you do?!"

"I- I didn't do anything! I just-"

"Turn it off!"
You quickly turned off your flashlight, hoping that's what he meant.
As soon as your flashlight was off, he held the right side of his face and sighed in relief. He intertwined his fingers, holding his own hand.

You carefully moved to sit next to him.
"I'm.. sorry if I hurt you.. I promise didn't mean to do so! I just thought.. I.. want to help?"

"Don't turn on any more lights. Sun needs to rest. Do you know anything about this place?" He asked, a little annoyed.

"I.. I've read some stuff? I know that there's been a few missing people and someone... died..? I never got to visit here as a kid.. I'm sorry, I don't know anything else."

"Someone died. Yes. That someone was very dear to us." He glanced at you from the corner of his eye. "The day everything ended. They made this place fun. But then.. that child.. Gregory. He ruined everything! They died, right there!" He pointed at the entrance you'd come through. "They told us they'd live. They told us they'd return.. but only after two months of no one here.. we finally found power, and we could turn on one of the tv's that weren't damaged. and we found out.. they died."

You pulled your knees to you chest, listening closely to his story.
"I'm so sorry.. that sounds.. awful. It must've been hard for you."

He scoffed.
"They were too young to die. It's all that kid's fault..! We would've had so much time together if it weren't for him.. we wouldn't be alone now.."

"Right.. I'm sorry for your loss.. so who are you..? I've read about a Sundrop and Moondrop..? You mentioned Sun before, does that mean you're Moon? And he came out before right? So do you like.. mix? Become one?"

"You're just like... ugh.. I'm Eclipse. Both Sun and Moon. We're supposed to be one but Sun.. he's just.. not well."
He sighed and pulled his knees up to his chest, and leaned his face on top of his arms.

"Not well? Why? Is his system down? What's wrong with him?"

He looked annoyed and shot you a glare. He was visibly angry.
"Nothing's wrong with him. It's all you humans! It's not his fault! He's the reason you're alive right now, don't you dare say something's wrong with him!"

"Wait, no that's not what I meant! I- I meant.. why isn't he well.. What happened? Is there anything I can do?"

He sighed and got up.
"You ask too many questions. You should leave. Leave us alone, and don't come back. We're not who we used to be. I refuse to be 'helped' by a human, you've done enough."

You got up as well, ready to defend yourself.
"Hey, that's not fair. I'm guessing you've had some bad experiences with people,  but that doesn't make mean just because they were human, that every human is bad! You and Sun are also different right? It's not fair to make me out as a bad guy when I've not done anything wrong!"

He turned to you and tightly held your wrist.
"You haven't done anything wrong?! You've come here, scared me, and made Sun use his energy to stop me from killing you! He shouldn't have to be scared! He shouldn't have to do anything! All he needs to do is rest! You've done enough for me not to like you!"

His grip on your wrist hurt. You hated how he turned you into a bad guy, but you felt surprised to learn that he was scared.
"You're scared? Of me? You're the one who scared me! I was in no position to hurt you! You could've just talked to me?!"

He only seemed to get angrier. You were that he'd attack you again, but the moment the light in his white eye flickered, he had a worried look on his face and quickly let go of you.
"I won't hurt them, I'm sorry, don't worry.."
The light in his eye went off again, and he sighed once again. He seemed to be partially relieved, but also annoyed.

"He wants to let you stay. Don't try anything, and don't come near us."
He held his hands together again and sat back down, a few feet away from you.

You sat back down as well, hesitant about what to do next.
"Soo.. does he speak to you? How does your body work? Why are you so stressed about Sun?" You were quite curious. Especially as he was being so secretive about Sun. What's so wrong with him showing his presence?

"Stop asking questions. You're nosy."

You sighed and rolled your eyes.
"Can I clean you up then?"

"What?"

"Can I clean you up? You look dirty."

He gritted his teeth, visibly annoyed.
"I told you not to get near us. No, you can't touch us."

"Well then can you at least talk to me? I'm not gonna sit here all quiet after you attacked me. I'm not sleeping either, You attacked me, what if you kill me in my sleep? If you let me clean you, at least I could still do something to help you. You're not letting me know anything, I can't think of anything to help you that way. I'm not supposed to ask any questions, but you do want me to stay? What do you want?"

"Why are you so annoying?! Fine! Whatever! Just don't try to come anywhere near our wires.."

"Alright. I'll be careful."
You took off your backpack and rummaged through it.

"How even are you planning to 'clean' us? Everything's gone. I doubt the water's still running. Don't you have great ideas?"
He spoke in a sarcastic tone and rolled his eyes at you.

"Yes, actually. I do."
You pulled out a water bottle and a spare shirt that you'd taken with you. You made the towel into a ball in your hand and poured some water over it before moving closer to the animatronic.

"You think you're so smart don't you.."

"Maybe I am. What would you have thought of?"

He scoffed once again.
He seemed to have a hard time accepting your presence.
You kneeled next to him and started cleaning his arms, rubbing off the oily and dusty spots. He was still holding his hands together, so when you finished cleaning his arms, you held out your hand.

"Will you give me your hand? I can't clean them like this."
He looked down at his hands and slowly placed his right hand in yours. He rolled his eyes and looked the other way, but as you started cleaning his hand, the light in his right eye turned on again. He looked back at you, just blankly staring without saying a word. You guessed that when his white eye would start glowing, it meant Sun was 'awake' or consciously with you, as Eclipse, or rather Moon's consciousness, would freak out every time it happened. This time however, he didn't seem to mind.

You showed him a soft smile. And even though it was minimal, you saw the corner of his mouth lift the slightest bit.
He placed his other hand on top of yours.
"Your hands are soft.. I like your hands.."
