"I'm Y/N. Nice to meet you."
They looked a little surprised, and you could see in their face that they felt emotional about it. It made sense they would though. They lost the one they loved and found them again, but their stories no longer exist, except for their memories. It must we hard to just let that go and start over. You don't build something like that in just a moment. Yet here they were, ready to do it.
They looked at your hands as you held both of theirs, and sighed.
They nodded to themselves and they looked back at you as another tear rolled down their face.
"Nice to meet you too. We're Sun and Moon.. or Eclipse."
They smiled at you.
You smiled back at them before you hugged them.
"I'm proud of you."
As you pulled away, you could see a faint blush on their face.
"Thank you."
You could see the light in Sun's eye dim, indicating that he went back to rest.
"So..!" You let yourself fall back into the net, laying down.
"What's the plan?"
He carefully laid down next to you.
"I.. I don't know."
"Okayy.. So I think I have an idea on how to handle Sun. It sounds a lot like a depression. I.. am familiar with that, so I have a bit of an idea on how to deal with that. As for your physical form.. well.. I really think we should find a way to get to your spare parts. I mean.. I'm sorry but.. look at you. There's no way you're gonna hold up for much longer like that. And maybe.. well, I know that you care a lot for Sun, and you want to take care of him, but we can do that together now. I feel like you're wasting away under that pressure."
He turned his head to the side to look at you. He hadn't thought of that before and was in thought as he frowned.
"No.. No I'm fine. We just need to help Sunny, and everything will be fine."
Sun's hand moved to Moon's, holding it. Moon looked down at his hands. It seemed like he was confused.
"I think Sun knows it too. You probably don't realize it yet, but you can't hold it up forever. I'll make sure you both get to rest, and I promise you'll both be happy again."
He laughed softly, still in denial.
"No, no, I'm fine, really. You're here, I just need Sunny back, and we'll all be okay!"
"Moon, you've been struggling too. It's time you get to mourn too. zit's not just Sun who's lost someone you know? Besides, you've been worrying about him all those years, trying to keep him with you.. it's time someone took care of you."
You placed your hand on top of both of theirs.
He stayed quiet, lost in thought. You'd seen it before, when people are in deep, they won't realize until it's over. But it was impossible for him not to be damaged by their whole situation. After all, you'd been through a similar thing, and you felt the same.
"Hey, how about this. We're gonna find a way out for me, and I'll come back tomorrow. I'll think about the right way to do this overnight and get some sleep. I'll get to eat something, and then I'll come back here. Is that okay?"
"You're leaving us?"
He snapped back to reality and his hand took yours, holding onto it tightly.
"I promise I'll be back. Here." You took off your watch and put it around his wrist.
"I'll be back tomorrow, by two a clock at it's latest, but I think I'll be back before that."
You held out your pinky finger.
"I promise, I will come back for you. I'm not leaving you here."
He looked genuinely scared but hesitantly linked his pinky with yours.
"Please come back."
You nodded and smiled at him.
"Now come on, help me find an exit."
He nodded and got up, pulling you up as well.
He pointed at a door above what used to be the slide as he hooked himself on one of the roped you'd climbed before.
"That's closest to the main entrance. Are you okay with me carrying you up there or would it scare you?"
"Yeah, thanks, that'd be great."
He nodded and reached out his arms. His face turned slightly red again as he realized what he was doing.
"Uhm.. I can just.. hold you like this, and you can wrap your legs around me.. is that okay..?"
You chuckled and wrapped your arms around his neck before jumping and wrapping your legs around his waist.
"Like that?"
He shyly nodded and wrapped his arms around your back, holding you tightly as he lifted the both of you into the air, towards the door he'd pointed at.Once he got there, he gently placed you down before he freed himself from the rope. Then he took your hand but pulled it away again the moment he touched it.
"Sorry, I..-"
You took his hand and showed him a smile.
"It's okay."
A smile crept up his face together with a light blush and he let out a soft excited giggle. He was clearly trying to hide it from you as he quickly moved, pulling you after him.
He led you through a long hallway. The floor was wet, probably from what used to be a water fountain, now filled with trash and broken down. He led you to another garage like door. This one was blocked by some broken map bot and a bunch of trash and old chairs and boxes.
"Behind this door is the main entrance. Have you seen the escalators?"
You nodded.
"They're blocked, but I can climb over it. I'm sure it's not that bad."
"No, don't do that. You don't know if they're stable. On either sides of the escalators are shops. Go through there and find the back door. There should be stairs leading you to the shops at the ground level. It's safer."
You nodded.
"Okay.. I will."
"Thank you."
As you were about to ask on how you'd get through the door, he pushed some of the blockades out of the way and slipped his fingers under the door before lifting it up. It must've been quite heavy as he seemed to struggle.
He managed to open it to the height of his hips.
"Go. I'll wait here for you."
You nodded and quickly placed a kiss on his cheek.
"I'll come back for you. Thanks for helping me."
He responded by smiling at you.
You smiled back at him before you got to your knees and crawled through the opening.
As soon as you got through, the door dropped back down and you heard a crash on the other side.
"Moon? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, go home now."
"Okay.."
