Sundrop & Moondrop x reader (+ NEW RUIN AU)

Ruin AU~ 6.

"No, I'm not confused Y/N. You don't remember."

"... I'm sorry but.. I'm not following."

He sighed and took off his hat, pulling an old piece of paper out of a tiny pocket inside of it.
He unfolded it and showed it to you. It was a picture. Damaged, and covered in some old oily spots, but the picture was clear enough.
It was a divided picture. Two in one.
The first was a brightly smiling Sun, together with a person. The second picture was the same person, but then with Moon who also had a genuine smile on his face. The person in the picture however, looked exactly like you.

You felt a shiver go down your spine.
You didn't feel scared, just.. weird.
"But that can't be me.. it must be a coincidence right?"

He shook his head.
He turned the picture around, showing the back which had Sun's, Moon's, and your name written on it, and the handwriting was a little too familiar.
"But.. how? I'm human. One hundred percent.. I never lost my memories, I'd remember that. I was born when the pizzaplex closed, I have pictures, I have proof! It's.. impossible!"

"I know."

"But then how.. what's going on?"
Your head was starting to hurt from the many thoughts. You felt so confused.

"Your breath is speeding up. Are you okay? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have told you about this, I'm sorry, why do I always hurt you? I-"

"No, stop apologizing. I'm fine, just confused."
It looked as if he was panicking.
You took a deep breath.
"Have you been blaming yourself for their.. uhm.. for the accident?"

He looked like a lost puppy from the way he looked at you now. So different from before.
"Well.. I couldn't even say goodbye to you.. and I should've known this wouldn't ever end well.. I should've tried harder to scare you, but you were so persuasive.. and.. kind.. and you weren't scared and I.. I.. I let my guard down, and you died. And I did it again."

You placed your hand on his arm.
"Eclipse..- No, Moon. Right? If that was me, it's impossible, but.. if it was, and even if it wasn't, it's not your fault. You couldn't have known. You never wanted to hurt them, I know you didn't. They brought you back right? I remember you were shut down. You must've felt so alone before they brought you back. It's not wrong to let someone in, and trust them. It's not wrong to love someone. And what you're saying makes no sense. There was nothing you could've done to stop them. They made their own choices, and you had no say in it. There was nothing you could've done to stop them from getting hurt. It was not your fault."

"But.. No but.. I.. I could've..-"

"You couldn't have known. You couldn't have stopped it, and you are not responsible in any way. You loved them, they loved you, and they made a choice to stay with you. I know it hurts, but you can't blame yourself for something that was out of your control. I'm sorry you've been feeling that way. It's not your fault Moon. It was out of your control. It was an accident. It's cruel, but accidents happen, and there's nothing you could've done to change that."

He had tears streaming down his face again.
The light in his other eye turned on.
"It wasn't your fault either.. You couldn't have known."

"You stayed for me. Again."
You heard a switch between their voices.
"I ruined your only way out."

You took their hands and looked them in the eyes.
"And you didn't know what it was or what it did. You didn't know, so it wasn't your fault. I stayed because I wanted to. I could've left the moment I saw you, but I came here for a reason, and I think that reason was you. Don't you dare think it was your fault. It wasn't."
The light in his white eye turned off again.
It was just Moon again.
