"Your hands are soft.. I like your hands.."
You were surprised about the comment as it was probably the first positive thing you've heard from them all night. The moment he finished his sentence, the light dimmed again and he quickly took his hand back. Sun was gone again.
"Is he okay? I didn't mean to force him to talk to me or anything..! I-""He wanted to."
You slowly nodded and just continued cleaning him, asking for his other hand which he gave you without a struggle.
You rubbed to cloth over his hand until the dirty spots were gone.
"There! Isn't that much better? You do still have some scratches, but you already look a lot better!"He shrugged, but you could see from his face that he felt a little better now that he was cleaner.
You kneeled before him and poured some more water on the shirt.
"Can I touch your face? You won't attack me?"He rolled his eyes once again which you accepted as a no, he wouldn't.
"Alright.."
You started gently rubbing the wet shirt over his oily and dusty face, removing the thick tear traces and random stains. You felt bad seeing how old and thick these traces were. It had to mean that they had cried a lot over the years. Well, he did tell you someone very dear to them had died that night. They must've suffered a lot. You didn't know what exactly they meant to them, but the pizzaplex was huge, and you knew there were mainly mindless robot's working here, except for the main four animatronics, which were usually on stage or in their own rooms. You guessed they didn't have much contact with the other four, and the only contact they must've had was with the kids and this person they talked about. They lost both of them at once. You could imagine it must've left them feeling miserable.
They're animatronics, but seemed to feel the same as any other human."Don't cry anymore after this okay? Your tear stains are hard to clean."
You chuckled and moved to the other side of his face.
"There. All shiny again, good as new.""We might not have a mirror here but I know that's impossible."
He scoffed."You do look better though! Hey, didn't they have any spare clothes and parts somewhere? You could use them."
"Wow, thanks, didn't know that."
"Can you stop being so stubborn and sarcastic? I'm trying to help you and make things better for you. Answer my question."
He didn't seem to like your tone very much, but he answered anyways.
"Ugh.. They do. But everything's caved in. I can't reach there.""Maybe I can."
You finished cleaning his face and went through your backpack."Of course you can't. Look at this place."
You pulled out the mask that you'd picked up earlier and showed it to him.
"Look what I found! I put it on earlier and-"
He harshly took the mask out of your hands where you hard it cracking.
"Hey, Don't break it! What are you doing? Give it back!"You attempted to take it back from him, but it was nu use. He'd already broke it in two, and as soon as it did, he punched on to the remains trying to break it as much as he could. He looked furious.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
You asked."Why do you have this?! Where did you get it? Is it yours?!"
He turned to you, giving you a threatening look."I found it in the hall at the main entrance.. What does it matter? That's what helped me get here! How will I ever get out of here now?!" You were starting to panic knowing that the mask had been the only way you got through some places.
"What are you saying?"
He looked genuinely confused, but still angry."I don't know how it work either and I know it sounds crazy, but when I put it on it literally clears up some obstacles in the way! It's the only way I got here! When I take it off it's right back to it's original state! You just destroyed my only way to get out of here!"
Your eyes were starting to tear up as you felt scared you'd never be able to leave this place. You shouldn't have come here. You shouldn't have been so stupid.Eclipse looked slightly surprised, but also like a puppy who got told off. He didn't know, and he felt bad about it, especially with your face.
"I didn't.. I'm.."
He moved away and looked around. You could hear a squeaking noise like old metal that moved past each other, and a moment later, Eclipse had disappeared.
You could see him move away, hooked on some thick wire that lifted him into the air. He went into a little opening above what used to be the ballpit.
Great.
You lost your only way home, and your only source of social contact in here. Even though it was an animatronic. You took a few deep breaths and tried to calm down. You'd get out of this. You'd find a way. There's always a way.
Eclipse had been alone for long enough, you shouldn't be mad at them. They probably didn't even know.. Well they definitely knew something based on his reaction, but you'd need to hear his story first.
You wiped away the teardrops from the corners of your eyes and got up.
"Eclipse? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gotten mad at you. Can you come back here?"No answer.
"Hey, I know you don't exactly like me but I don't really wanna be alone here either.. Come on, can you come back here? We can talk about it if you want! Or not.. if you don't want to.."Still no reaction.
"Really? You're leaving me alone here? Fine. I'll get up there somehow, you better wait for me!"
You could see the small red light of his eye up there, but it quickly disappeared again. You sighed and looked around. There must've been no original way to get up there from here as you could see no traces of a ladder. However, you could see one of the play structures had fallen over against the wall near the balcony. It wasn't quite high enough to reach it, but you could see some old ropes, alike to the one that Eclipse used. It must've been strong enough to hold you as it could hold his weight as well. You climbed down the play structures and made your way over to the ballpit.
You climbed up on the side of the structures, making your way up to the top, as high as you could go.
You reached out for the rope and inspected it. It ended in some kind of hook, but that would be no use for you.. or maybe it would.
You wrapped the rope around your waist and hooked it on it so you'd be kind of tied up. You took another rope and moved it through the hook as well, trying to create a mechanism, alike to the once they used to climb walls and buildings. Well, a very poor amateur version of it, but at least it was something to help you get up there. You pulled on the rope and started climbing up the wall. It was difficult, but you managed. There you were. A few feet away from the balcony. How would you get over there?
"Hey uhm.. Are you in there? I'm here, but I could use a little hand?"No reaction. Of course not.
You sighed and looked around again. The rope around your waist still was long enough to get to the ground. You could make the jump if it depended on the amount of rope you had. You'd need something to hold on to. The other rope you had used to climb up. But it was pulling you up which meant there was no room for you to jump. It would just drag you back. If you could untie it, it could work, but it did support you. You pulled up the rope which was tied around your waist, and carefully wrapped it around there a few more times until it was at the same length as you. Then you untied the other rope you had used as support, and dropped the remaining of it down. You held on to it, now barely tied up, and untied the rope around your waist as it was only holding you up and would get in the way for the jump, and dropped it down as well, slowly letting go of it. All you had to hold you up now was your hands on that single rope. You took a deep breath and held on tightly to the rope.
You stepped on the wall, trying to swing yourself closer to the balcony. Once you were swinging far enough to reach the balcony, you let go.
