"How are we getting in there?"
"We're breaking the window."
Moon walked over to the window on the left from the door, and punched it over a few times until it started to break.
Once the crack was big enough, he kicked into it, making a loud crash as the window fell apart. "Be careful, the edges can be sharp."
He warned you as he stepped into the room.
You carefully stepped in as well, avoiding the glass, and Liam followed after you.
"This is it. Parts and services.."
Moon seemed a little uncomfortable here so you walked up to him and placed a hand on his back.
"Are you okay?"
He nodded.
"Just.. not a lot of good memories from this place. I'm okay though."
"Alright.. sit down if you need to, alright? We'll find the parts."
He nodded and you turned around again, looking around the room for some clues as to where you could find parts.
You saw some endo skeletons, definitely turned off, but beside them were two cages covered with some white sheets.
You walked over to them and carefully pulled the sheets off.
You heard a gasp behind you, which sounded like it came from Liam. The moment you took in the sight in front of you, you felt a throbbing pain in your head, and you instantly felt nauseous.
You slowly crouched down, trying not to pass out from the sudden wave that hit you.
Moon quickly came over to your side and placed his hands on your shoulders to support you.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?"
It almost felt like something from the back of your mind was trying to show itself to you.
You took a moment to breathe until your headache got less.
It went away just as fast as it came. "I don't know what's happening.. I'm fine." Moon supported you as you got back to your feet.
There were two metal bodies in front of you. One that looked like Moon's actual form, and one that looked like Sun's.
You noticed how Moon looked surprised as he looked at the bodies.
"These are not our spare parts.."
"What do you mean?"
"Our spare parts are mixed. Like from the both of us. That's how the light used to influence our body. These are not our spare parts." He reached out his hand to Sun's body, and took his hand through the bars of the cage.
"My wife would love this.." You heard Liam say as he came to stand next to you, looking at the two lifeless animatronics in awe.
"Do you think I.. Y/N made them?"
"They were pretty skilled. I think so.. It had to have been them. I couldn't think of anyone else who'd buy or make us separate bodies. No one really cared for us before them." You took a good look at the bodies and noticed a sticker on Sun's.
'Separating Project.'
"It's a project.. Do you think we could use them? To give you both your own bodies?"
Moon looked a little nervous about the idea and took his hand back to hold his own.
"I don't know.. what if he doesn't wake up? What if his program fails when he's alone?"
"Would he give up now that he has a new chance?"
"...No, he wants to get better.."
You showed him a smile.
"Exactly. It might take a while for him to be better, but if you're separate, don't you think it'll be easier to help him? We could both help, and he could take his time. Besides, I think this is our only option. I haven't found any spare parts, and it's only a matter of time before your current body or system fails."
He still looked nervous but nodded.
"You're right.. Let's do it."
"Don't worry, okay? I'll do everything I can to get you both out of here well." You placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to comfort him a little.
"Okay. I trust you."
He opened Sun's cage and lifted the body out of it, placing it down gently on a table in the middle of the room. Next he took his own new body and placed it against the wall before sitting down next to it.
"Do you know how our systems work..?"
You took the little paper book out of your bag and showed him one of the pages in the back.
"Someone left me some notes."
"And I can help..! Maybe.. I'll try."
Liam said.
He smiled.
"Alright."
He looked over at Sun's body and then at you.
"See you on the other side then?"
You nodded and crouched down next to him, cupping his face before you placed a kiss on his cheek.
"See you. Both of you."
............
He opened his eyes, his surroundings slowly sinking in.
He was on the floor against the security desk inside the daycare.
"Y/N..?"
No answer.
He was all alone inside the daycare. The cupcake he'd built out of trash a year ago was still in front of him.
He reached for his other hand.
"Sunny..?"
That's right. Sun's system had shut himself off about a year ago.
He'd been long lost, and the bottom half of his body had stopped functioning only a few months after Sun left.
He could feel his own consciousness slipping away. It's time isn't it? It's been twenty years, you weren't coming back. He missed you, and he wished that in some universe, you could've been together. Maybe they'd been human, and you could spend your lives together. Today was your birthday, is that why he dreamt of you? You died. It was foolish of him to hope for a miracle to bring you back to him.
It was such a cruel thing to give him hope through such a dream. Even so, he felt grateful to be able to see your face again, even is it was just in a dream. He took the damp picture from the tiny pocket in his hat and took a look at it. The picture was so crumpled, he was barely able to recognize your face in it. He held the picture tightly as he placed both of his hands on his chest before closing his eyes and letting his system shut itself off.
He whispered one last thing to himself before the light in his eye died.
"Maybe we'll be together in another life starlight. See you on the other side."
