Relization

The next morning I wake up and get ready.

My mom died 2 years ago. Today is what my mom would call "mommy daughter fun day" she had one once a year with all my siblings and todays was the day I would get mine. I guess it was just gonna be one of those days. I Got my Walkman and put it in my pocket and put my headphones on. I went downstairs and sat at the table. I didn't talk just sat listening to music I didn't eat much either I zoned out until I snapped out of it cuz I hear my sister yelling my name.
Alaya: Y/N!!!!
I look up and take my headphones off.
"what!?"
I say in a rude tone.
Alaya: Anna's mom is here hurry up!
"Oh shit"
I get get and run out the door.
Dad: your backpack y/n!!!!
I hear my dad yell from I sigh and walk bakc inside to grab my backpack.

Alayas pov

This morning y/n was acting totally weird. I mean weirder then normal she usually like to act emo but today she actually seemed like somthing was wrong. I get into Anna's moms car.
Maya: what's y/n doing
"I think she left her backpack idk something is off abt her today she acting kinda weird..." y/n opens the door to the car. Sam wasn't doing car pool today so y/n sat in the back next to shuji.

Shujis pov

We pull up to y/n's house her sister runs out first and she follows behind but then she stops and runs back inside.
Maya: what's y/n doing
Alaya: I think she left her backpack idk something is off abt her today she's acting kinda weird...
Hearing that I got kinda concerned y/n opens the door and gets in the car she sits down but she has her headphones on and she doesn't rlly acknowledge anyone.
Shuji: you ok y/n?
She looks over and takes her head phone off
Y/n: mhm
She says as she nods and smiles softly. Now Ik for sure somethings wrong. The whole car ride she just listened to her music.

Back to y/n

We get to school and I get out of the car. And start walking to the restroom to regroup a little bit as I was walking I was stopped.
Shuji: y/n wait!
I stopped and turned around taking my headphones of.
Shuji: what's going on?
"Nothing I told you I was fine!"
I didn't like to bring up what happened to my mom cuz I don't like when people try to pity me.
Shuji: I don't believe you I can tell something is  wrong talk to me!
I felt tears starting to well up in my eyes.
"You don't have to worry ok"
I say with a shaky voice trying to reassure him. I sped off to the restroom before anyone could notice me starting to cry. I walk into the bathroom and go to the sink. I cover my hand with my face and take a deep inhale. I pull my self together and fix my mascara. I walk out and go to my locker to get the binder for my next class.
Andy: yoooo
Evan: hey y/n what's up
Shuji: hey...
I turn around and give them a quick and annoyed looking smile before shutting my lock and walking off.
Evan: yo what's up with her?
Shuji: idk but she was like abt to cry when I was trying to figure out what was wrong

(Time skip)

I get home feeling a little better. I didn't have detention today so I was very relieved. I was up in my room sitting at my desk reading a book.
Alaya: y/n I have a amazing idea!!!
Alaya says busting in the door of my room.
"Uhh what idea would be so amazing that you can't knock"
I say rolling my eyes looking back at my book.
Alaya: omggg whatever so basically you need to fake date that one guy you were on phone with the other day and that's how you can find out if shuji likes you!
"You know that is a good idea... IF I WAS A TERRIBLE PERSON"
Alaya: ohhh come on what's so wrong with it if your so sure Shuji doesn't like and as long as you explain to the other guy and also if you like it you can real date him.
I think for a second and realize... she's right.
"Hmm"
"Okayyyy"
I say getting up from my chair.
Alaya: good idea huh
"Yeah... I think your on to something"
Alaya: yayyyyy so we need to make a plan
"Ok so how abt tomorrow I talk to Elijah abt it and then we can go from there"
Alaya: good idea
We sit down on my floor and start talking.
"Yk I might like shuji a little bit..."
Alaya: O.M.G!!!
"Shuuuusshhhhhh it's just cuz like today he was genuinely nice to me... and like he's rude to everyone else but to me"
Alaya: oh yeah I know how much you like nice boys
"Yeah which is why I also really like Elijah cuz he's super nice to me too"
Alaya: wellll consider this test a way to decide
She says winking.
I laugh a little bit.

Hey guys sorry I posted this one a little late also it's a shorter chapter then the others. But I think the next few chapters are gonna be good and I'm super exited for y'all to read them!❤️
