Detention

The next morning I wake up a little bit earlier then usual. I was dreading today so much. I chose a comfy outfit considering I'd be stuck in a room doing nothing for 2 hours.

I go downstairs and this time I'm the first one at the table.
Dad: your ready early
"Yeah I just wanted a early start ig"
Just then Zaiya comes downstairs she's usually the first one down and I'm usually the last so she was surprised to see me.
Zaiya: whattt you beat me to the table that's a first
She says sitting next to me and the table.
My dad puts out plates in front of us.
Dad: y'all can go ahead and eat you don't have to wait for your brother and sister it's fine.
We nod and start eating our food a few minutes later we hear arguing from up stairs.
Roman: GET OUT IF THE BATHROOM YOUVE BEEN IN THERE FOR LIKE 10 HOURS
Alaya: more like 10 minutes you impatient baby
Alaya says opening the door. Roman pushes her out of the way and goes into the bathroom.
Alaya comes downstairs and sits across from me and dad hands her her food and we start eating.
"Alaya are we doing car pool with Anna and Maya today?"
Alaya: duhhhh
She's says smiling I smile back.
Soon after Roman joins for breakfast. As we're finishing up our food Anna's mom honks outside.
"Oh just in time" I say is I take mine and alayas plates and set them in the sink. We go outside and get in the car. I sit in the front the car ride was same as usual just Maya Anna and Alaya being loud and weird. I'm glad my sister could have them as friends tho cuz she doesn't feel rushed to act mature and older around them. I was not in a very good mood today. We get to school and we all get out of the car. I start walking to class. Is I was walking I was stopped by a boy. I had never met him before.

Elijah (Sergio irl)
Elijah: hey uh your y/n right?
"Oh yeah what's up"
I say with a soft smile.
Elijah: oh well uh I just thought you seemed pretty cool and uh I wanted to know if I could get your number maybe?
"Oh uh sure" I say happily
I write my phone number on a piece of paper and hand it to him.
Elijah: cool I'll uh call you tonight?
"Yeah!"
He smiles and walks off. I didn't know shuji was behind me.
Shuji: uhh who was that?
I jumped hearing his voice behind me cuz I had no idea he was there.
"Good lord shuji you scared the shit out of me where you there the whole time?!"
Shuji: ehh pretty much. So who was he?
"Hmm idk but he's hot so"
I say shrugging. He scoffs seemingly annoyed.
I start walking off and shuji speeds up to walk next to me.
Shuji: so do you like him now or what?
I stop walking and face towards him.
"Idk dude you saw the whole interaction"
I start walking again.

After school

The bell rings and instead of the relief I usually feel I felt dread. I let out a sigh as I gathered all my stuff. I start walking to the library where they did detention. I walk in and I say Hayley the girl I fought. She was sitting there alone with a teacher sitting at the desk.
Teacher: hello miss l/n just in time take a seat wherever
I nod and sit at the table in the very back right corner.
Teacher: y'all may use this time to work on unfinished work and homework
I take out my note book and instead of doing any work I just start drawing. As I'm drawing I hear the teacher.
Teacher: ahh mr Diaz your late
I look up and I see Elijah. He notices me and smiles.
Elijah: oh uh sorry ma'am the teacher was taking to me after class
Teacher: mhm alright then take a seat anywhere
I notice he's walking towards the table I'm sitting at. He sits down next to me.
Elijah: hey I didn't think I'd see you here
He says with a soft smile.
"I didn't think I'd see you either"
I say giving one back we're interrupted by the teacher again.
Teacher: your late
I look up to see who she's talking too. I'm shocked to see it's shuji. Elijah notices my shocked expression and looks too.
Elijah: do you know him?
Yeah uh that's my friend shuji.
Teacher: take a seat.
Shuji sees me and smiles but his smiles fades a bit when he notices Elijah. I widen my eyes and gesture him to sit with us. He gives a little smile and comes over.
Shuji: hey y/n what's up
"What in the world are you doing here?!"
Shuji: oh uh I got caught skipping and smoking weed
"Of course you did"
I say shaking my head.
Shuji: you wanna come to my house after detention Andy's gonna be there we're gonna watch some wrestling
I think for a second.
"Yeah sure!"
I glance over and notice Elijah looking a little sad. Then I remember he was gonna call me.
"Only ifffff I can use your phone while I'm there?"
He scrunches his eyebrows a little bit.
Shuji: yeah sure?
I smile and nod and rip out a small piece of my notebook paper.
"What's your phone number again?"
He looks confused but tells me.
"Perfect thank you"
I looks over at Elijah smiling and hand him the piece of paper.
"Call this number instead just for tonight ok?"
Elijah smiles and take the paper and puts it in his pocket. Shuji a scrunches his face as he watches the interaction and rolls his eyes. We couldn't really talk the whole time or we'd get in trouble so we just kinda sit there doing random stuff and whispering to each other every once in a while. Or maybe me just whispering to one or the other shuji kept giving Elijah death stares any time he would say anything. 2 hours later and finally we were free I get up and get my stuff together shuji was standing there waiting for me, and so was Elijah. I wasn't sure why Elijah was but shuji was cuz we were gonna walk to his house. I finish packing and look at both of them. I look to Elijah.
"Bye don't forget to call me ok?"
Elijah: I won't bye y/n-
Shuji grabs my arm and starts pulling me away. I wave bye to Elijah one more time and start walking with shuji.
"That was rude of you"
I say rolling my eyes.
Shuji: yeah well you where taking to long
He says letting out a big sigh.
"And you need to stop being mean to Elijah he's really nice"
Shuji: yeah well I don't like him.
"Why?"
Shuji: because... I don't think he seems like a very good guy
He says shrugging
I scoff.
"Yeah well your just jealous- "
Shuji looks at me.
Shuji: what no? Why would I be jealous?
He says sounding kinda panicked.
"Well you would've heard that part if you didn't cuz me off but I was saying your just jealous cuz he has better fits then you"
