Painful

After school I walk out and see Elijah at the tree he's always at. I sit down next to him. "Sooooo" I say looking at my hands. "So what I was saying is that I really like you and it's ok if you don't feels the same I just wanted to let you know" Elijah says and looks at the ground.

"Well I-" suddenly I'm cut off. "Y/n I really need to talk to you it's important" shuji says to me. "Ok one second I'm in the middle of something.

"No we need to talk now" he says grabbing my arm and dragging me "ugh I'll call you Elijah I'm
sorry!" Elijah just does a sad smile and nods. Shuji pulls me away where nobody else is. "Shuji what is it that was sooooooo important you had to interrupt and super important conversation"

"Listen sorry for interrupting you and your boyfriends moment or whatever but this is also really important" "it better be" I say crossing my arms. Before he could even start talking we're interrupted. "Y/N WE HAVE TO GOOO" Alaya yells to me.

"Dude" I say blankly. "Talk tomorrow?" I say looking too shuji who looks very frustrated. "Yup" he says letting out a sigh. I give a guilty smile and thumbs and and walk off"

Me and Alaya begin walking home. "Dude Elijah just confessed to me and now I don't know what to do" I say putting my hands on my head stressed "no way" Alaya says turning to me with wide eyes. "Yes way" I let out a sigh "well... if your right and shuji doesn't like you you could date him I mean Ik you'd want to" the replies shrugging "your right but I think shuji does like me..."

"Oh..." she says and goes silent for a second I glance over to her a notice a smile growing on her face. "Omg Alaya" I roll my eyes and playfully push her. "No fr tho what am I gonna do"

"I don't know but we can figure this out"

We get home and go up to my room and sit in the floor. "I have a idea" Alaya says as she gets up and runs to her room. I stand up and follow behind her. He goes to her closet and pulls out a poster board with school stuff written on it.

We walk back to my room and Alaya sets it on the floor flipping it over to the blank side. "Ok heres the plan" the pulls out a blue marker and a red marker. At the top of one side the writes "shuji"
And the other side she writes "Elijah" under both of the names she draws a line. On one side of the line the writes "pros" and in the other the writes "cons".

I catch on and let out a slight chuckle. Once she finishes drawing everything up the puts the marker down and looks at me. "Ok let's start with shujis pros" I nod at her suggestion. "Umm good style" I suggest. "Mhm" Alaya nods in agreement as she writes it down "goods looks" I smile to myself. "Yup" Alaya writes it down. "Uhhh good friend" after writing a few more thinks down the under the pro's section on shujis half had.

"Ok now for Elijah's pros" after we finish Elijah's pros it now had.

As we looks at it I scrunch my eyebrows at he fact it basically the same other then "nice, smart".

"Uhh ok maybe the cons with make a difference" Alaya says. "Yeah" I agree. After a while of trying to think of cons for both of them shujis side read.
"Kinda mean" and Elijah's side read "made me life harder by confessing to me".

"That's it really?" Alaya says rolling her eyes. I just smile awkwardly and shrug. "Welp this didn't turn out to help much did it" she says setting the poster board down. "Nope" I sigh "y'know what maybe I should just make them fight to the death for me" I say jokingly Alaya laughs along with me.

"Omg I have a idea" Alaya says snapping her fingers. "What is it?"

"Ok so basically spend one week with shuji and spend one week with Elijah and see which one you y'know... like better" I think abt it for a second. "I meannnn I got nothing so I guess that's my only option" I say shrugging. "Well I needa call Elijah but you stay so you can listen" I say to Alaya as I get up and dial his number putting the phone on speaker. It's rings a few times until Elijah picks up.

"Hello?" "Hey Elijah it's y/n" it's silent for a moment. "Oh yeah hey y/n" "hey..." "so uh I guess I should pick up were left off so it's ok if you don't feel the same way and I understand if you like shuji I just thought you deserved to know"

I look to Alaya which has her lips pressed into a straight line as she listens. "Well I'm in a very difficult position right" I explain letting out a sigh. "I know and sorry to make it more difficult and you don't have to make a... decision or anything right now"

"It's ok I appreciate you telling me tho" "yeah I didn't wanna keep it a secret anymore you know" "yeah..." the line goes into a few seconds of awkward silence until Elijah breaks it. "Ok well my mom calling me downstairs for dinner so uh see you at school" "ok bye see you at school" Elijah then hangs up. I put the phone down and look at Alaya which is cringing at the painful interaction.

"That was like... terrible dude" I say rubbing my forehead. "Yeah it was". Just then we hear my dad holler from downstairs. "Kids dinners ready!!!" We get up and go downstairs as I try to recover from the painfully awkward phone call I just had.

GUYSSSS IM BACKKKK Ik you don't rlly care but yk😭 this chapter isn't very long but it's still a little over 1000 words so it not tooooooo short but thankfully after pushing through running out of ideas for this chapter I have plenty of ideas for at least the next 2 chapters also idk if you noticed but I switched up how I write a bit cuz after reading my other chapters I feel like the way it's written is a little chaotic so I hope this way is better
