Girlfriend

The next day I was going to Mayas house with Alaya. I was invited by Maya to hang out with them but I knew that wasn't getting me out of having to talk to shuji. Alaya said Maya told her she had a huge drum solo that she was gonna show so I was looking forward to how that turns out.

We make it to Mayas house and knock on the door. Yuki answers the door with a smile "hello girls the kids are in their rooms" we take our shoes off and I try to sneak to avoid having to talk to Shuji.

Were about walk past his room and we see him at his computer. I rush past before he can notice and Alaya follows behind me casually. "Sup Alaya" shuji says looking up from his computer. "Hi" she says waving to him as she passes by his room.

I open the door to Mayas room and see Maya and Anna on the floor playing with some little animal dolls. They see me and immediately try to hide them. "Umm what's up guys whatcha doing I say as I join them on the floor just as Alaya walks in too.

"We were just like y'know talking...and stuff" Maya says trying to sound cool. "Yeah" Anna adds starring blankly. "Okay... so um what do y'all wanna do?" I ask. "Can we like do makeup and paint our nails" Anna asks. "Yeah ofc that sounds super fun I even brought my makeup bag" I answer and I set my makeup bag in the middle of the four of us and unzip it.

Just then Mayas door swings open. "Sup buttlords" shuji says. He looks down and notices me fuck "y/n?" "Heyyyyy shuji whats up" I say trying to sound casual. "Umm I didn't know you were here" "oh well uh I am" "well um can I talk to you real quick?" I let out a sigh as he asked that. "Uh yeah sure I'll be right back guys" I say standing up.

I follow him into his room and he closes his door behind us. He sits in his bed and pats the spot next to him. "Soooo what do you need to talk to me about?" I ask as I sit down next to him.

Shujis pov:
"Soooo what do you need to talk to me about" this is it this is where I tell her how I feel you got this shuji you got this. I take a deep breath before speaking. "So I've been needing to tell you this because it's really important and I hope this doesn't make things weird between us but uhh basically..." I was about to say it but then... "I uhh got a girlfriend" I chickened out. WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME WHY WOULD I SAY THAT IM SO STUPID WHAT THE FUCK.

I watch as her expression changes to something I can't read. "Oh!" She says in a surprised tone. "That's great! Why would you wait so long to tell me?" As she says those words I begin to feel kinda crushed. She seemed... happy? I guess that confirms that she doesn't like me back. "Oh uh
I don't really know but um thanks for being happy for me" I say putting on a fake smile. "Yeah of course your my best friend!" She says giving me a hug before standing up. "Well I'm gonna go back to the girls I promised them I would do their makeup" "alright" I say with the same fake smile. She started to walk out but stopped in her tracks turning back around "also uhh me and Elijah aren't actually a thing anymore it's a long story but yeah" ARE YOU KIDDING ME NOW I JUST RUINED THE CHANCE OF ME GETTING HER EVEN MORE BECAUSE SHE THINKS I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND NOW. "Oh ok sorry to hear that you doing ok?" "Yeah I am thank you" she says giving a soft smile before walking out of my room.

Y/ns pov:
After leaving shujis room I decided to go the the bathroom to gather my thoughts before  going back to Mayas room. But first I needed to get Alaya. "Hey Alaya come here real quick" and she walks over I grab her wrist and rush into the bathroom with her and lock the door. "Uhh what's going on" she asks confused. I sit down on top of the toilet with my face in my hands.

"He just told me he got a girlfriend..." "WHAT" Alaya says way too loud. "Shhhuuuhhuhuhhhu shut up!" I whisper scream. "Are you kidding me right now!?!?!" She whisper screams back. "I know! I thought he liked me but I was way off" I sigh.

"Guysss like what are y'all doing we want to do makeupppp" Maya says from the other side of the door. "Nothing we're coming I was just fixing layas hair for her!" I respond standing up and opening the door.

After hanging out with Maya and Anna for a while it gets closer to dinner time so me and Alaya have to head home. "Bye guys I had lots of fun!" I say waving to Maya and Anna. "Wait are y'all coming to our concert tomorrow?" Anna asks. "Yeah of course" Alaya says happily. "Bye y/n and Alaya" shuji says from the couch. I smile and wave to him but Alaya just gives him a weird look making him visibly confused.

"I can even believe this! Y'all would of been such a cute couple and he had to ruin it like what the fuck!?!?" Alaya rants on about how angry she is he got a girlfriend. "I guess it just wasn't like that y'know I mean he thought I had a boyfriend so why can't he have a girlfriend" I shrug "I bet he's doing this to be petty because of you and Elijah" "I doubt it's that deep Alaya"

The next day

I get dressed to go to Maya and Anna's concert tonight. I wear some baggy jeans with a off the shoulder t-shirt. I do a lip combo and some eyeliner.

                                     Time skip

"Ok girls I'll be back to pick you up in an hour" "ok dad thanks for the ride" I say closing the door.

Alaya and I make our way into the auditorium and look around for somewhere to sit. I notice Shuji and his parents so we make our way over. "Hey shuji" I say sitting down next to him. "Sup y/n" he replies. He looks over and notices Alaya. "Sup Alaya" instead of answering she just gives him a dirty look. I elbow her arm and give her look.

"Hey shuji" she says in a annoyed tone. Just then the music teacher comes on stage to start the show.

                                Small time skip

After Anna's solo which was actually very good it was time for Mayas solo. The band starts playing and it seems like Mayas struggling. Suddenly she starts banging on the drums like a crazy person. "Is this the big "solo" she's been hyping up?!" I whisper to Shuji who's just watching it all go down with a confused and concerned expression on his face.

"Umm I think so" he whispers back. Maya continues to bang on the drums shouting random gibberish. She finishes whatever that was and everyone is just staring at her with shock and confusion. "Go" she says pointing to the music teacher. He sighs and shakes his head then signals to the band to continue playing. They begin playing again. "What was all that" I question in a concerned tone. Right after I say that Maya throws up and the whole crowd gasps.

I cringe at the sight and look over to Alaya who's got her hand over her mouth in shock. I look at shuji whose rubbing his forehead looking ashamed and embarrassed. I look back at the stage where there are kids scattering off stage while Maya just stands there.

"What the fuck just happened" Shuji says from beside me. I just shake my head laugh a little bit and he starts laughing with me.

I'm so happy to be back and also sorry it took longer than I said for me to publish this I got kinda busy I hope y'all aren't mad abt the plotwist I had to do smt to make it more interesting😭😭😭 also thank you @minniop0 for the suggestion and please feel free to leave more!❤️ (y'all please leave suggestions it helps so much and I love writing y'all's suggestions)
