After Tony's visit, bringing a Chinese meal to Y/n, Director Fury called a meeting with all the Avengers present. On the way, Tony, Nat and Maria chatted.
"She can't remember her first name, it reminds me of the first time we asked her. She couldn't remember either," commented Nat.
"It's true, she reminds me of that old Y/n we had at the very beginning. Well, she showed a little more expression at the beginning. Now she's showing us nothing." said Tony.
"I think it's due to the change of scenery and in particular to the fact that she's grown up and been taught to be discreet about her facial expressions." explained Maria.
"Yes, that's probably it. I imagine it couldn't have been easy for her to wake up in this type of cell with so many people around her and indeed, I also think that having a neutral face has become automatic for her." continued Nat.
"Well we're going to have to remedy all that, she needs to know she's safe here but it's going to be hard to get her to understand that when she's got a giant gun pointed at her at all times." indignant Tony.
"You're pointing out something important here Tony, we'll have to discuss it with Director Fury." said Maria.
On the way, they passed Steve and Bruce, who were also on their way to the director's office for the meeting.
"How did it go with Y/n?" asked Steve.
"You're getting ahead of yourself Cap, can't you wait until we've all talked it over with Fury? I don't want to have to explain twice, it's tiresome." said Tony as he entered Fury's office.
Steve rolled his eyes and grunted, entering after him. Everyone then gathered in front of the director's desk, which was facing them from behind.
"Thank you all for coming. I understand, Mr. Stark, that you've managed to get Ivanov to talk," Fury related.
"Is that true?" "Really?" came the surprised reactions from Steve and Bruce, who knew nothing about it.
Tony didn't react.
Fury turned and went to speak when his eyes fell on a plastic bag on his desk. He frowned and looked at his guests.
"Whose is this?" he asked, pointing to the bag.
"It's mine." replied Tony, strolling nonchalantly around the room.
Fury sighed and rolled his eye before turning his attention back to the others.
"As I was saying, Agent Hill reported to me that Stark and Agent Romanoff had lunch with Ivanov and managed to get her to talk. So I'd like to know how you did it and what she said." asked Fury.
"She didn't say anything special, Tony asked her what her first name was and she simply told us she didn't know what it was." replied Natasha.
"So she would have lost her memory, again. At least she answered you and now we can assume she doesn't remember anything." replied Bruce.
"Right, that's a breakthrough. Now-" began Fury before being cut off by Steve.
"Wait a minute, wait a minute. You say she doesn't remember anything, so she has no idea why she's locked in a cell with handcuffs and dozens of guards watching her. It's no wonder it took her so long to talk, she must be scared, poor thing", Steve snapped.
They've been holding her in a cell for weeks, without explaining why or who they are. Yet she's done nothing to escape, she's remained calm and wise. She's no danger now.
"We should release her," suggested Tony.
"No, not yet. We need to know more about her and what she knows. We will, however, remove some guards and leave you and Stark and Agent Romanoff to extract information from her." explained Fury.
