Song of the Chapter

I'm not my match and pretty face

Feels like you're playing my part

Can't figure out if I like the chase

Can't figure out who you are

And all the mirrors always make me think about you
Cause i'm not use to losing at my own games
And all the memories show you're face when i'm without you
It all starts to look the same

Rose's Point of View

He pushed me until I hit the lockers causing pain in my back. I glared at Adrian Ivashkov, who looked angry as ever. People surrounded us watching as the scene unfolds. Let's just all say Adrian hasn't gotten over my insult on the other day. Sydney stood behind him glancing back and forth between me and her crush. She was afraid. I looked around and saw Christian, Eddie, Mason standing by the lockers on the opposite side of the hallway. Dimitri was not here.

"You really got some guts to say something like that to my face for a penniless nerd like you," he said, his dark emerald green eyes shining with pure anger.

He grabbed my arm roughly and Sydney held onto his arm trying to pull him away.

"Adrian, let go of my best friend!" she said, her voice shaking. She was literally trembling with fear. He completely ignored her. Tears swelled in her blue eyes. He did not care about her.

I glared at him and said, "Then get your filthy hands off of a penniless nerd like me. I don't have enough money to buy a cure for the diseases you've been spreading around the female population." I pushed his hand off of my arm and stood my ground. I was not going to walk away. I've known many people that are like him. They always push people around and it's sick!

"You dar-"

"Adrian?"

Everyone turned around to face Dimitri. He looked a lot better than the last time I visited him. Our eyes locked and my heart was beating at an abnormal rate. He was the first to break our eye contact and I looked away feeling like my heart was on a edge.

"What's going on?" he asked, directing his question to Adrian. Adrian, being the jerk he has always been, pointed at me and said, "She insulted me."

Dimitri raised his eyebrow at me. I looked back at him not backing down. That was true. I did insult him since no one was brave enough to. "Really? What did she say?" Dimitri asked, looking slightly amused.

Oh, yeah. He missed out a lot.

Adrian glanced at me and whispered something into Dimitri's ear. For a few seconds, Dimitri looked shocked, but recovered quickly.

He sighed and said, "She said you're worst than a prostitute?" The whole school gasped and all eyes were on me. That was right. I was no longer the weak Rose Hathaway. That old me was long gone.  To be honest, Dimitri looked more amused than angry.
