Rose's Point of View

It has been two days since I've reported to the police. Lissa also helped me to hand over the video of me getting beat up. I had to go to court in a week and they locked my parents up in a jail for now. Lissa has been very supportive and comforted me whenever I needed reassurance that I was doing the right thing. All the events have been stressful, but what occupied my mind was Dimitri Belikov.

Now I stood in front of my school shocked to see many students and teachers holding up signs. The one that caught my eyes the most was Sydney Sage's sign.

You are loved! Anti-Abusive Parents!

I teared up feeling touched. How in the world did Sydney pull this stunt off? Before I said anything, I ran to her and threw my hands around her neck.

"Thank you, Sydney."

She hugged me and whispered, "You deserve all the good things, Rose." I smiled and my eyes trailed to the crowd and saw Missus Ellis-Little, my loving music teacher. She was crying. I let go of Sydney and walked to her. She wrapped her arms gently around me and said, "I never knew. You are so strong, Rose. Everything will be okay now."

For the first time in my life, everyone, even strangers, were nice to me. They had put much effort in trying to understand my life and its violence. I was grateful.

So this is what love feels like.

"I'm buying you lunch!" Lissa exclaimed, waving her pink wallet in the air. Now she was being dramatic! Again.

The memory of Dimitri paying for my lunch flashed into my mind. I haven't spoke to him at all. I looked across the cafeteria and saw him tapping away on his phone with a frown on his face. I felt the urge to go and talk to him, but doubt clouded my mind.
