"Come on, concentrate," Charlotte muttered. Charlotte had to coat her hands with energy to be able to smash the wall. Charlotte had picked up a few things to take with her, the journal that she kept with her, the brochure, the pencil, No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai, a USB flash drive, and one of the drones that she was forced to repair. Charlotte had planned to escape, she wanted to take revenge on Alexis for locking her up in the room. Charlotte waited for the sun to completely set and pretended to sleep. Once she was left completely alone, Charlotte tried to climb the wall to get to one of the windows. Charlotte had stolen a clean lab coat, she put all the stuff that she brought with her and then tied up the clean lab coat/. She wanted to ensure nothing would fall out. Charlotte reached the top, she had to figure out how to break the window. She lightly coated one of her hands with energy and directed her fist to hit the glass. The glass shattered when the impact of Charlotte's hand hit it. Charlotte put her head down making sure that the glass didn't go into her eyes. The soft tissue on Charlotte's hand aches because she hit the glass. Charlotte climbed out of the window, Charlotte looked at her hand, it was slightly bleeding, but the energy protected her from any further damage.
Charlotte ran into the darkness leaving the miserable room. It had been a month and two weeks since she had been staying in that room. Charlotte never looked back, and she saw an opportunity to go back home.
A slam on the meeting table erupted from Alexis, startling the entire room full of entrepreneurs from other companies who were present when the necklace had taken all of her energy away. "What do you mean she escaped!" Alexis bellowed. One of the assistants informed Alexis about Charlotte's escape. "Tell me, where is she?" The assistant didn't know where Charlotte had run off to., "Find her then! If you find her, get back here immediately!" Alexis demanded.
Alexis later continued with his meeting, and Lavinia was present during the entire meeting. She was in disbelief, she couldn't believe that Charlotte had escaped from the room that she was supposed to stay in. Lavinia wondered how Charlotte had escaped but kept paying attention to the meeting.
Charlotte had used Jane's teleportation powers to get her back home, Charlotte was tired since she had run away from the museum and ran into the streets of New York without knowing where she was going in the first place. Charlotte had been out of breath, the only thing she could hear was her heavy breathing. "I'm finally home." Charlotte heaved, then sat down on the couch and took a break. Her clothes were worn out within a month and two weeks. Her hair was already greasy since she hadn't gotten a proper shower over there.
Charlotte united the lab coat from its awful form that she had tied it in. All the things that she had brought with her fell with a loud thud on the floor. Charlotte used the lab coat to cover herself from the cold air being ventilated by the air conditioner. She shivered slightly, as the cold air ventilated the living room. She heard voices in the distance, but her mind was absent, she was absent. "It's never going to end, isn't it?" Charlotte mumbled as she shivered every few seconds.
Lavinia went to the room and noticed that glass had been shattered and pieces of it had fallen on the bed. "She must've broken the window," Lavinia said as she observed the window. The room used to be messy, but it was now pristine. Lavinia got out of the room, she noticed her father talking to the armed guards. Lavinia looked from afar, "They'll never find her." Lavinia breathed, she was certain that they would never find Charlotte. Three years ago they were good friends, now they aren't.
"Miss Mallin!" Lavinia heard a voice from behind. Lavinia turned her head and glanced over, she saw the woman who was in charge of feeding Charlotte. "What is it?" Lavinia questioned why the woman was in shock. "They left this for you." The woman handed a handwritten note to Lavinia. It had already unfolded, and Lavinia started to read what the handwritten note contained. Feelings of hatred towards Charlotte increased, Lavinia crumpled up the note and gave it back to the woman. She went to see her father, "They'll never find her!" Lavinia huffed, and Alexis looked at her. "Are you sure about that?' Alexis questioned. "Yes! I'm sure of it! She always finds a way to somehow escape, always." Lavinia said she tried to calm down but it just seemed impossible.
