JUNGKOOK

Jungkook was almost finished unpackinghis suitcase when his phone chirped with a new text.

He picked it up from the nightstand, immediately
smiling when he saw who
it was from.

Just checking in! I miss you already, Call me when you
get a chance.

Lau.

His best friend for as long
as he could remember.

He thought about calling her immediately but decided
against it.

Not only was he tired from battling through busan and
Seoul but he knew that talking
to Lau would only make him second-guess the whole trip.

Not that she would
intentionally try to talk him
out of moving to Seoul.

On the contrary, she'd done a really believable job of being excited for him when he'd received the corporate job
offer but he knew her well enough to know the truth.

She didn't want him to go.

He wasn't even sure he
wanted to go.

Busan was home to everything and everyone he knew and
the thought of starting over
at thirty was a little scary.

Still, what did he have to
lose?

He would miss hanging out regularly with Lau of course
but they'd still likely talk or
text daily.

And... what else?

He had other friends sure
but nobody close.

Nobody else he could count
on to have his back the way
Lau did.

His parents would definitely
be happier if he settled down, even if that meant he had to move to a different state.

Like Seoul, for example.

Jungkook ran a hand through
his hair, sighing as he looked
out the window.

The gray sky and light
drizzle wasn't likely to
improve his mood but at
least it was pretty.

Maybe he'd take a nap and
then check out the club scene.

Or... not. He shook his head.

That's all he ever seemed
to do when he traveled.

Check in at the hotel.

Go to the club.

Meet a hot twink.

Mess around with said twink.

Go to work the next day.

Rinse. Repeat.

Surely there was more to life than that, wasn't there?

There had to be something
else that he could do to
pass the time.

Something fulfilling.

But fuck it.

He was bored and horny.

Something more fulfilling
would have to wait.

He finished his second bottle
of beer and scanned the
sparse crowd.

He wasn't looking for anything
or anyone in particular but
he wouldn't necessarily turn down a little company for
the night if the opportunity presented itself.

Although after an hour and
two beers, his chances were seeming more and more
remote.

"Oh, sorry."
